Forest Green Upset Over Transfer's 'Brexit-like' Failure

After Bolton Wanderers' registration embargo saw the transfer of Christian Doidge to the Championship club collapse, Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince has hit out at Ken Anderson, comparing him to Theresa May and her attempts to negotiate a Brexit deal. Vince recalled Doidge, despite Bolton chairman Ken Anderson's attempts to find a workaround, as the Trotters had not been paying his wages due to their financial difficulties, as well as being unable to pay the previously agreed transfer fee. Vince said: "[It] reminds me of Theresa May saying she'll still get a Brexit deal. It's not going to happen. Bolton entered into a contract to loan and then buy Christian last August without the means to honour it. They haven't even paid his wages for the past four months - we have. We've taken the decision to recall him after his loan agreement expired last week. Anderson made a lot of promises on the last day of the transfer window, both to Christian and FGR, and has kept none of them. This is all his work and from talking to Ken he feels immune from the consequences - but some of these promises are written in legally binding contracts, and we'll be pursuing them." Norwich City are also said to be owed a six-figure sum by Bolton for unpaid wages and loan fees for deals involving Remi Matthews and Yanic Wildschut.

Anderson Trying To Sell

Bolton Wanderers chairman Ken Anderson admits he does not have the money to take the Trotters forward, while claiming he had personally funded the November salaries of his players (except the loanees who remained unpaid). While hitting back at what he calls "very disrespectful" comments from Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince, Anderson was forced to admit he is doing his "utmost" to sell the club as he lacks the resources to rescue the club from financial problems. Anderson said: "The club needs someone with greater financial resources than l have to take it forward. I along with everyone else at the club are doing our best to try and ensure that the financial position improves."
