Review of the Day

Transfers

St Mirren have made a double signing as they look to climb off the bottom of the SPFL table. Brighton & Hove Albion winger Anders Dreyer and Shakhter Karagandy full-back Mateo Muzek have joined on loan for the rest of the season.

Newcastle United defender Jamie Sterry has returned to Crewe Alexandra on loan, having spent a spell there last season.

Sunderland striker Josh Maja has joined Bordeaux for an undisclosed fee.

Cedric Soares has completed his loan move to Inter Milan from Southampton, with Inter having an option to buy the player at the end of the season.

Reims have spent just over £3.5m to bring in Heerenveen winger Arber Zeneli.

Udinese's Croatia striker Stipe Perica has joined Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa on loan.

Former Arsenal winger Joel Campbell has headed off to Mexican Liga MX side Leon from Frosinone.

Manchester City have sent winger Marlos Moreno off to Mexico on loan. The Colombian winger will spend the rest of the season with Santos Laguna.

Contracts

Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire have given Johan Kappelhof a contract extension which runs until 2021.

Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic has been given a new contract extension the day after agreeing to stay at West Ham United despite interest from Chinese clubs. Despite his brother, who is also his agent, saying that Arnautovic wanted to leave, he has now committed to staying for the longer term. A statement from the striker said: "I want to say to the fans that I'm happy to stay. I'm glad to play again, show myself and score goals, to make assists, but also to say that the major point is Marko Arnautovic never refused [to play or train]. I would never refuse. The fans gave me the power, they gave me the energy and that's why I have to be here and that's why I want to stay. I never wanted to run away because I hate this club, this was never my intention."

Bony Close To Leaving Swansea

Swansea City manager Graham Potter has confirmed that he left Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony out of the win over Gillingham in the FA Cup as he is likely to leave the Welsh club in January. Potter told the BBC: "I thought it was unfair to ask Wilf to be involved. There is nothing to report at the moment. Of course there's speculation. With Courtney (Baker-Richardson) and Oli (McBurnie) and the attacking options on the bench, I thought we would leave it until everything settles down and assess things after the window shuts. Injury is a consideration, Wilf has been great with us and perfect with the group and he wanted to be involved. But in the previous round Courtney scored against Aston Villa and Oli's been playing well for us, so when you add everything up it didn't seem necessary to have him in the squad. Also coming back from his injury, he needs to start games rather than come on as a sub, so when you weigh it all up that was the decision."

Brawl Mars Millwall's Win

Millwall's shock FA Cup win over Everton has been overshadowed by a mass brawl that took place before it, believed to be between Everton and Millwall fans, which resulted in one man having his face slashed. Police reported a "large group of males" fighting in the street in Southwark. Det Insp Darren Young said: "The behaviour of those involved in this incident is nothing short of disgraceful and those involved can be certain we will be working to identify them. We are aware of the video circulating online, which has quite rightly elicited shock and disgust." Police have appealed for information about the incident.

Posh Go Back To Fergie

Peterborough United and Darren Ferguson are like that couple we all know that constantly bicker, break up, start seeing someone else and then jump back into bed together on a monthly basis. Ferguson has returned to Posh for the 3rd time as manager following the sacking of Steve Evans, with the team sat in 6th place in League One.

Funds Raised To Resume Sala Search

The search for missing Cardiff City striker Emiliano Sala has resumed after a GoFundMe page raised £220,000 to fund two boats to begin a private search, after the official search was called off on Thursday. A petition in France looking to have the search resumed has reached more than 80,000 signatures.

Emenalo Joins Monaco Departures

Just a day after Thierry Henry was sacked by AS Monaco, sporting director Michael Emenalo has also been sacked. Emenalo only took up the role with the French side in November 2017 after leaving Chelsea. His time at Chelsea was marred by complaints from the fans about his signings and now at Monaco he has similarly failed to convince Monaco's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev with Monaco sat second bottom.
