Contracts

Parma duo Alberto Grassi and Luigi Sepe have signed one year deals with Parma.

Divock Origi signs a new 5 year deal with Liverpool, a reward for scoring the derby day winner against Everton and scored twice against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals, as well as the second and final goal in the Champions League final win over Tottenham Hotspur.

 

Transfers

Roma have spent over £21m on Real Betiz goalkeeper Pau Lopez.

Spanish centre-forward Alvaro Vazquez has joined Sporting Gijon from Espanyol.

Juan Ibiza has signed for Almeria from Villareal on a free transfer.

New England Revolution have signed Argentine forward Gustavo Bou from Club Tijuana.

Portugese Liga NOS side Famalicao have taken young Argentinian defender Nehuen Perez on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Brentford have signed Danish midfielder Mathias Jensen from Celta de Vigo for just over £3m.

German midfielder Erik Thommy has moved to Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan from VfB Stuttgart.

Bologna forward Felipe Avenatti has joined Standard Liege for just over £3m.

Monaco have lent Italian left back Antonio Barreca to Genoa.

Cagliari have paid over £500,000 in loan fees to get Italian right back Federico Mattiello from Atalanta for the season.

Mansfield Town have signed Dion Donohue from Portsmouth on a free transfer.

Tyler Smith has joined Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan deal from Sheffield United.

Tom Eaves has joined Hull City on a free transfer from Gillingham.

Jordan Ponticelli has joined Tranmere Rovers on a 6-month loan deal from Coventry City.

German defender Julian Borner has joined Sheffield Wednesday from Arminia Bielefeld.

Nottingham Forest have signed Ghana winger Albert Adomah on a free transfer following his release by Aston Villa.

 

Pique Handed Huge Tax Bill

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has become the latest top flight player in Spain to be ordered to repay large mounts of money in high-profile tax evasion cases in the country. Former Spanish international Pique has been ordered to pay just under £2m in tax arrears and fines, just a month after his wife, Shakira, was questioned over the alleged evasion of around £13m in taxes. The arrears date from between 2008 and 2010.

 

Cocu Adds Rosenior To Coaching Staff

Liam Rosenior has been appointed as a first-team coach at Derby County with an emphasis "on individual development of emerging young talent" under new head coach Phillip Cocu. Rosenior has been working as an assistant coach with Brighton's under-23 team since he retired from playing in 2018.

 

Dalrymple Leaves Wolves

The managing director of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Laurie Dalrymple, has left the club with immediate effect. Dalrymple was appointed by Fosun International following their takever in July 2016 to a newly-created role from his previous job in the club's commercial department. Chairman Jeff Shi is to take on some of the work and said: "We have very clear strategies for all areas of the club. We are very much looking forward to the new challenges that this season will bring. With the strong management team we have in place at Wolves we will continue to push forward on and off the pitch."

 

County Winding-Up Petition Adjourned

The world's oldest professional football club, well professional for now at least, Notts County have had a winding-up petition against them adjourned for the third time. County owe HMRC around £800,000 and will be back in court on 31st July, giving owner Alan Hardy time to sell the club.

 

Arsenal Anger Over Racial Abuse

On-loan Arsenal player Jordi Osei-Tutu left the pitch in tears after an opposition player racially abused him in a pre-season friendly between the club he is on loan with, VfL Bochum, and Swiss side St Gallen. An Arsenal statement read: "Racism has no place in our game and we do not tolerate any form of discrimination."

 

Fener Rule Out Ozil Move

Turkish side Fenerbahce have ruled out signing Mesut Ozil from Arsenal despite links in the media. Fenerbahce have said they will not be able to afford the German midfielder, their statement read: "Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties."

 

Donnie Appoint Moore

Darren Moore has returned to football management as Doncaster Rovers manager. Moore played for Doncaster in the early stages of his career and had been out of work since being sacked by West Bromwich Albion in March when he had the Baggies in 4th place in the Championship.
