McInnes said: "The staff, players and I are committed to trying to deliver success and build upon all we've achieved in the past six years. With the opening of our new training campus on the horizon, I am excited about the prospect of training in a modern facility, something which should be in keeping with the ambitious club we are. It's no secret I love working for this club and I will strive to continue to try to create those special moments for our supporters. Working closely together, I believe this is possible."

Scottish Sides Bid For Ojo

Scunthorpe United midfielder Funso Ojo is in demand north of the border as SPFL clubs Hibernian and Aberdeen have had bids accepted for the 27 year old. Ojo made 40 appearances for the League Two side last season.

Marseille Shocked By Stanley

Accrington Stanley have shocked Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille in a friendly played at the AJ Bell Stadium, which usually hosts matches for rugby union side Sale Sharks and rugby league team Salford Red Devils. Despite a side featuring a World Cup winner and also former West Ham United midfielder Dmitri Payet, Stanley were able to beat them 2-1 through goals from Sean McConville and Offrande Zanzala, even though former Newcastle United Florian Thauvin scored to put them under pressure. The big question is: How many times did you think 'who are they?' while reading this?

Allardyce Claims He Rejects Toon Return

Newcastle United's search for a replacement for Rafael Benitez has taken a surprising twist if Sam 'Pint Of Wine' Allardyce is to be believed. While the media are busy linking former Sunderland manager Steve Bruce, who is a childhood Newcastle fan, with the role, Allardyce has claimed he turned down the chance to take the job once more. Which the fans will no doubt be happy about, as he was not well loved in his first spell. Allardyce said: "I never got to talk to Mike. My agent contacted me, I had a think about it and a quick look at the situation and thanked them very much. It's not for me. Maybe if it was the first time around I would have jumped at it. I appreciate the offer but I was surprised - I've not worked for a full season. I was very flattered that I was considered but it's that thing - don't go back. It never got to the type of talks people are suggesting but it wasn't for me. I politely said no."

Koscielny Refuses To Travel

Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the USA with the squad for its pre-season tour as he looks to leave the club. The 33 year-old French defender has one more year on his contract but believes he had an agreement with the Gunners to allow him to leave on a free transfer and so has taken action to force the club's hand. An Arsenal statement expressed their unhappiness: "We are very disappointed by Laurent's actions, which are against our clear instructions. We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time."
