Zaine Francis-Angol has signed for Accrington Stanley on a free transfer after leaving AFC Fylde. Also signing for Stanley is a PE teacher in the shape of Colby Bishop from non-league side Leamington. Bishop said: "It's sad to be leaving teaching but I am over the moon to be here. It's a really good school, the kids will miss me and I think I am having a leavers' assembly on Friday so it could be quite emotional. I have loved it there but it's time to move on. I know the gaffer here was a primary school teacher as well. I still have to go to work next week and he said he had to do the same thing for three weeks when Accrington turned professional so he does understand it. We have common ground. It was a big decision to give up teaching but it was a decision that didn't take a lot of thinking about, professional football is what I used to do and it's what I have always wanted to do and I am looking forward to getting going."

Ross Doohan has returned on loan to Ayr United from Celtic.

Jordan Willis has moved to Sunderland on a free transfer from Coventry City.

Fleming Retires

Morecambe's 31 year old midfielder Andy Fleming has been forced to retire because of a serious knee injury. Morecambe manager Jim Bentley said: "I'm absolutely devastated about the news. Speaking with him when he came to his decision this week was one of the worst meetings I've ever had with a player. He's the only outfield player still at the club since I played and we used to travel together to games and training every day. He's a good friend of mine, who I respect and think the world of as a person." Fleming had returned to the side after a "chondral defect to his left knee" only to suffer a reoccurence of the problem in pre-season which has forced him into the decision.

It will take time but I'll recover. I always play to win, both in football and in life. I'll defeat leukaemia."
