PSG Agree Gueye Fee

Idrissa Gueye is finally set to make his move to Paris Saint-Germain after they agreed a fee with Everton for the French midfielder, who nearly joined in January. 3 Soton Fans Fined For Sala Taunts

Three Southampton fans are certainly no Saints and were fined by Southampton Magistrates' Court for taunting Cardiff City fans with aeroplane gestures just after new Cardiff signing Emiliano Sala had been killed in a plane crash. The 3 men, old enough to know better but clearly too stupid, were reported by both sets of fans during the match at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium on 9th February. 47 year old James Downey admitted making a forward diving motion and was fined £520 and given a 4 year football banning order. 49 year old Jake Carman was fined £635, while 53 year old Mark Ferrett was fined £427. Both Carman and Ferrett are contesting their banning orders.

Racial Abuse On Rise In English Football

Anti-discrimination charity Kick It out have claimed a link between Brexit and the rise of racial abuse at English football matches as reports of "go back to where you came from" chants re-appear in the game. Kick It Out's head Roisin Wood said: "I think you can't not link them together. We're seeing a lot of reports of 'go back to where you came from' which we haven't seen for a while which seems to be on the back of Brexit. If we're seeing a rise in hate crime, the Home Office is seeing a rise in hate crime and other bodies are seeing a rise in hate crime, it's linked because that's what is going on in society at the moment. If it's there, we'll see it in football. In some of the cases we have seen, there is a real hatred there which we haven't maybe seen as much of in the past where it's really violent and very targeted, particularly on social media. Some of the social media reports we've seen you wouldn't want anyone to see. We're talking to people all the time that feel, post-Brexit, that 'maybe this country isn't for me'. [Politicians] have to take that responsibility very seriously, they are the leaders of the country and they need to set the tone. Society is reflected in football." According to Kick It Out, reports of racism increased by 43% last season.

CAF Ex-Co Member Given 10 Year Ban

La Liga Steps Into Griezmann Row

La Liga president Javier Tebas, obviously feeling ignored after not having any ludicrous comments in the headlines for a while, has waded into the row between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona over the signing of Antoine Griezmann. Tebas has suggested La Liga might block the transfer due to Atletico's complaint against Barcelona. Tebas told Onda Cero: "It is possible to block a player's transfer. La Liga will have to decide what course of action to take. [Atletico] submitted a complaint and put in doubt whether we should pass Griezmann's licence to Barcelona. There's a process that has been put in motion and those overseeing it will have to come to resolve the case."
