Contracts

Portugese midfielder Raphael Guerreiro has agreed a new 4 year deal with Borussia Dortmund.

Crystal Palace have given new contracts to two players. 30 year old central defender James Tomkins is contracted until 2022, while Christian Benteke is now tied down until 2021.

Bayer Leverkusen's Austrian midfielder Julian Baumgartlinger has agreed a new deal running until 2021.

Nikola Katic has signed a one-year contract extension, taking his contract with the Glaswegians until 2023.

 


Transfers

Former Celtic striker Gary Hooper has signed for Australian A-League side Wellington Phoenix on a free transfer.

Canadian forward Simeon Jackson has signed a short-term deal with Kilmarnock.

 


Parkinson Chosen By Mackems

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson has been given a contract until 2022 as Sunderland manager replacing Jack Ross. Parkinson quit Bolton in August after they were deducted 12 points. Parkinson said: "It's a great opportunity to get this club going again. I think everybody knows the expectations of a club of the stature of Sunderland is to get promoted. I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think I could achieve that. It's got to be the ambition - they wanted someone who's ambitious, achieved promotions before and know what it takes to get over the finishing line."

 


Cameroon Name Their World Cup Squad

Cameroon have named their squad for the U-17 World Cup, surprisingly leaving out Samuel Eto'o's son Etienne.

Senegal Name Squad Amid Age Cheating Storm

Senegal name their squad for the under-17 World Cup and hit out at accusations of age cheating. The Senegalese FA said: "The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) wishes to inform the public that, to date, no player from the U-17 national team selected for the Fifa World Cup 'Brazil 2019' has been denied because of fraud on the part of age, as has been relayed by some local media."

La Liga Make Second Attempt To Hold League Match In USA

La Liga has requested permission from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to hold December's game between Atletico Madrid and Villareal in Miami. They had previously tried for permission to move Barcelona's meeting with Girona in January to Miami, but both the RFEF and the Spanish players' union (AFE) objected to it. La Liga president Javier Tebas said: "This match would be a further push in La Liga's internationalisation strategy, which is giving all clubs good results. We believe that on this occasion, we will be able to carry out this positive opportunity for everyone, like they already do in other leagues like the NFL and the NBA, outside of their borders."

 


Four Bulgarians Fined And Banned

Four of the Bulgaria fans that were arrested for racially abusing England players have been fined 1,000 Bulgarian lev (£443) and banned from attending sporting events for 2 years. There have now been 7 fans arrested, after one more was arrested on Wednesday, with one of the 7 confirmed as a minor.

 


Boxing Day Match Moved For Amazon

Leicester City's home match with Liverpool on Boxing Day has been moved back to 8pm for Amazon to televise it. Other clubs have also had their games moved over the festive period, after a delay of six days to the announcement to the annoyance of fan groups.

UEFA Charges

The UEFA Europa League match between Vitoria SC and Eintracht Frankfurt has led to punishment for both clubs. Vitoria were fined 50,000 euros for the setting off of fireworks and throwing of objects. Coach Ivo Viera was also warned over the late kick off. Frankfurt have been banned from selling tickets to their travelling fans for its next two European matches, one due to a suspended punishment from January. They have also been ordered to pay for damages caused by their supporters, as they were found guilty of charges of throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and act of damages. They were also warned over the late kick off.
The Champions League match between Valencia and Ajax has led to charges of acts of damages, crowd disturbances and improper conduct of the team against Ajax. Ajax's suspended punishment from November 2018 has been enforced, banning them from selling tickets to its away fans for the next match in Europe. Bizarrely they have had another suspended ban also placed over them, a fine of 18,000 euros and an order to pay for the damages their away fans caused at the Mestalla.
Slavia Prague have been fined 26,000 euros for blocked stairways in their game against Borussian Dortmund. Dortmund themselves were charged with throwing of objects, setting off of fireworks and acts of damages and were fined 29,875 euros as well as pay for the damages their fans caused.
Celtic have once again been fined for the setting off of fireworks, this time 12,000 euros for the game against CFR Cluj 1907.
Liverpool and Salzburg have both been fined after their Champions League match. Liverpool 10,000 euros for a field invasion by supporters and Salzburg 3,250 euros for the throwing of objects.
Manchester City have been fined 15,750 euros for throwing of objects in their match against GNK Dinamo. Dinamo were charged with acts of damages and throwing of objects and fined 20,000 euros and ordered to pay for the damages. They have also been given a suspended ban from selling tickets to their away support for one match.
The UEFA European qualifiers match between Kosovo and Montenegro has led to throwing of objects charges leveled against both teams and a crowd disturbances charge against Montengro.
