Review of the Day

Contracts

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has agreed a new four and a half year contract with the club.

Injury Round-Up

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas has picked up an injury in the warm up for their match against Brest, forcing him to miss the game.

Kylian Mbappe is a doubt for France with a hamstring injury.

The USA will have to do without goalkeeper Zack Steffen due to tendonitis in his knee. The Fortuna Dusseldorf shotstopper needs an "extended break and treatment".

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has a knee injury according to his manager Maurizio Sarri.

Zizou Denies Trying To Tap Up Mbappe

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has denied he was trying to unsettle Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe when Zidane told a press conference that Mbappe had a dream to play for Real Madrid one day. Zidane said: "I've said nothing, just what the player said, that his dream was one day to play here. Everyone does what they want. I'll not say anything else. I simply said what the player said one day, that his dream would be to wear the Real Madrid jersey. I say it again and I would say it every day. I have nothing more to say about Leonardo, I can say whatever I want."

Rangers Target League

Despite Rangers reaching the Scottish League Cup final and performing well in the Europa League, club captain James Tavernier has said that the league is their priority. Tavernier said: "First and foremost it's about trying to compete for the league. European football is a great addition for the club and the fans. It's a big bonus for us. But everyone is here primarily for the league so we need to get three points at the weekend. It ranks as one of the best results in my time at the club. Porto are a very difficult side, a Champions League side. When we played them away from home in the first game you could see the level of class they had. But we knew with the full backing of our fans and with the sort of performance that we delivered in the second half that we could get a result. So we're delighted that we kept a clean sheet and scored two."

Hibs An Option For Kewell

Former Leeds United winger Harry Kewell has called Hibernian "another option" after he was spotted watching them play St Johnstone. Kewell lasted just 10 weeks in charge of Notts County, before he was sacked nearly a year ago and told the BBC: "For me it's just another option. I hear great things about the Scottish game. Steven [Gerrard] is here and he's doing really well. For me, I've come up here to have a look. I know there's a lot of rumours speculating about a lot of things. I virtually go to a game a week, and people speculate straight away just because they see you there. Even prior to Paul Heckingbottom coming it was an option I'd looked at because it's a great club. It's got a wonderful facility, it's got a unique type of players. The league itself is interesting."

Wenger said: "We decided together we will talk next week because I'm in Doha until Sunday. This is the true story. On Wednesday afternoon, Rummenigge called me. I could not answer and by politeness I called him back. He was in his car going to the game against Olympiakos. We talked for four to five minutes maximum and he told me they had assigned [Hans-Dieter] Flick to be the coach - he will manage the next two games. Klopp Dismisses Mbappe Signing

Liverpool have absolutely no chance of signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain according to their manager Kylian Mbappe, despite the speculation in the media. Klopp said: "Buying this calibre of player is difficult. I don't see any club at the moment who can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG. I don't see any club, that is how it is. And we are involved in the clubs that cannot do it. It is as easy as that. OK, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign him. What a player he is. But it is about the money of course. No chance. Absolutely no chance. Sorry for killing that story."

Paqueta Not In PSG Talks

AC Milan player Lucas Paqueta has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with reports in the media claiming PSG's sporting director Leonardo has been holding talks with his agent Eduardo Uram. Uram though denies the rumours telling Tuttomercatoweb: "Leonardo wants him at PSG? I've had no contact, he wants to stay at Milan also next year and continue to do better. Now the guy is happy with the situation that has been created around him."

Koln Sack Head Coach

Bundesliga strugglers Cologne have fired their head coach Achim Beierlorzer following an eighth loss in eleven league matches. Cologne were promoted as the champions of the second tier last season but are in serious danger of returning as they sit in the relegation zone. Their new sporting director Frank Aehlig said: "I regret that we've had to take this step, because we value Achim Beierlorzer very highly. However, the hoped for sporting success hasn't been achieved so far."
