Review of the Day

Contracts

Bradford City manager Stuart McCall, in his third spell in charge of the Bantams, has signed a 1 year contract extension.

Osasuna's Spanish midfielder Roberto Torres has signed a new contract which runs until 2023.

VfB Stuttgart have tied down Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo with a new deal with will expire in 2024.

Journeyman English winger Jake Jervis has signed a contract extension with Finnish side SJK Seinajoki, which will keep him at the club until the end of 2022.

Transfers

As transfer speculation swirls around Stade Rennais' teenage wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga, the 18 year old has dumped his agent. The French international will now be represented by his father, though a host of 'super' agents are sniffing round him, with an eye on becoming his new agent.

Injury Round-Up

Everton's French left-back Lucas Digne is set to undergo surgery on an ankle injury the 27 year old suffered in training this week. Digne is set to have the surgery on Monday and is expected to be out for a few weeks while he undergoes rehabilitation.

Managerial Changes

Hibernian chief executive Leeann Dempster has resigned her post at the Scottish Premiership club. The 50 year old has agreed to stay in place until her replacement is ready. Dempster said: "I think it's genuinely the right time, both for the club and for me, to move on to a new chapter."

Livingston head coach Gary Holt has also resigned his position. Holt said: "This is not a decision I have taken lightly. But I feel it is the right time for me to step away. I am proud to say the work we have done over the past two years has resulted in great success, both on and off the pitch." Livvie are currently sat in 10th in the SPFL and have taken just one point from their last five matches. The club's head of football operations, David Martindale, and goalkeeping coach Tony Caig will be taking charge of the team while a replacement is sought.

Disciplinary Charges

UEFA have banned Qarabag FK press officer Nurlan Ibrahimov from football for life and are requesting that FIFA extend his ban worldwide for "incidents of a non-sporting nature" and racist behaviour. Those same charges against the club itself have led to the club also being found guilty of both charges and fined 100,000 euros. The decision is regarding comments made by Ibrahimov on social media.

Ukraine have been deemed to forfeit their UEFA Nations League match with Switzerland, which was called off when the entire Ukrainian team delegation were placed into mandatory quarantine by the health authorities in Switzerland. A number of positive CV tests caused the health authority to act and UEFA decided that the fault lay with Ukraine and the Swiss have been awarded a 3-0 win.

L'Equipe are reporting that Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Houssem Aouar, who Arsenal tried to sign in the summer, has been punished for refusing to take part in a post-match warm down with the other unused substitutes. Aouar blamed the poor state of the pitch but L'Equipe say that he has been dropped from Lyon's squad for Sunday's game against Stade Reims.

Sweden Want Zlatan Return

Sweden's head coach Janne Andersson has revealed that he met AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in an attempt to convince the veteran forward to come out of international retirement. Ibrahimovic quit international football in 2016, after that summer's European Championships. Ibrahimovic recently admitted that he misses playing for Sweden and recently tweeted a picture of himself in a Sweden shirt in what many believed was a hint he was ready to return. Andersson clearly thought as much too and he, along with the general secretary of the Swedish FA Hakan Sjostrand flew down to Milan to talk to the former Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain attacker. Andersson said: "When Zlatan was open to join the national team again it was important to meet and discuss this more. I'm glad we got a meeting this fast. The meeting was very good and we agreed to discuss it more."
