Review of the Day

Contracts

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has agreed a new contract which runs until 2023.

Transfers

Fleetwood Town are releasing Welsh international Ched Evans due to disciplinary issues.

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Blerim Dzemaili has signed for FC Zurich.

In Major League Soccer, Chicago Fire have traded Brandt Bronico to Charlotte FC.

Experienced centre-back Ryan Shotton has moved to Melbourne Victory of the Australian A-League from English non-league side Leek Town.

Injury Round-Up

Norwich City academy striker Shae Hutchinson has had to undergo a second kidney transplant. The 20 year old had his first transplant in 2018, with his father as donor, but it was only operating at 17%.

Managerial Changes

Schalke 04 have sacked their second manager of the season. Manuel Baum lasted just 79 days in charge and has been replaced as head coach of the struggling Bundesliga side by Huub Stevens.

Ross County have sacked their manager Stuart Kettlewell following a 2-0 home defeat to Hamilton Academical. County are 4 points adrift at the bottom of the SPFL.

Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has been appointed as new manager of MLS side Atlanta United.

Laurent Blanc has finally returned to coaching, four and a half years after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. The 55 year old, who won the World Cup as a player with France, has taken charge of Qatari Stars League side Al Rayyan.

Disciplinary Charges

Lilian Thuram's son Marcus Thuram was sent off playing for Borussia Moenchengladbach. The 23 year old French forward spat in the face of Hoffenheim's Stefan Posch in an incident missed by the officials but spotted by VAR.

Kickers Do A Stuart Pearce

A few years back, when Stuart Pearce was manager of Manchester City he made headlines for bringing on goalkeeper David James as an outfield player, for some reason no one ever figured out. This weekend German second division side FC Wurzburger Kickers did a similar thing by bringing on goalkeeper Eric Verstappen as an outfield player, except this time it was because their squad was decimated by positive CV tests. Kickers could only name a 14 man squad in total.
