Contracts

Bolton Wanderers have given defender Ricardo Santos a new deal running until 2023.

Transfers

Free agent former Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran has signed for MK Dons on a short-term deal.

Mansfield Town have added free agent defender Jake Wright on a contract until the end of the season.

Another free agent to find a club is forward Abraham Odoh, who has signed an 18-month deal with Rochdale.

Veteran former Real Madrid right-back Juanfran has been released by Brazil's Sao Paulo.

Reading defender Omar Richards has agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich at the end of the season on a free transfer.

Injury Round-Up

Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes is to have a knee operation which will rule him out for six weeks.

Former West Ham United, Newcastle United, Watford and Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder has died at the age of 65 after a long battle with a brain tumour. Roeder had also played for Newcastle and Watford as a defender. It was during his time as Hammers boss that he was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2003, which required surgery and a 3-month break to recover.

Shrewsbury Town boss Steve Cotterill has been taken back into hospital with a relapse of his CV-related illness. The 56 year old was in hospital for over a month after initially being admitted on 15th January.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out of AC Milan's team for the next 3 weeks with a left thigh injury.

The Red Bull set up continues to move players around the group as Mali midfielder Youba Diarra has joined their Major League Soccer side NY Red Bulls on loan from Red Bull Salzburg.

Managerial Changes

Ipswich Town are in talks with a new manager after Paul Lambert left the Suffolk club over "significant differences of opinion" with the owner Marcus Evans. Evans said: "I know he has his thoughts on what is needed to take Ipswich forward and I respect his opinions. It has, however, become clear after holding discussions over the last few days that there are significant differences of opinion as to the order of immediate priorities and we agreed it was best for us to part company."

Leyton Orient have sacked head coach Ross Embleton. The League Two side were on a run of seven matches without a win. Veteran winger Jobi McAnuff has been put in temporary charge of the team.

Darren Moore has left his job as manager of Doncaster Rovers to take up the same role with fellow Yorkshire side Sheffield Wednesday. Wednesday had been without a manager since sacking Tony Pulis at the end of December.

Julien Stephan has stepped down from his job as head coach of Stade Rennes after the team dropped down to 9th place amid a run of six league games without a win.

Disciplinary Charges

Four arrests have been made after police searched the offices of Barcelona. Spanish police are investigating financial issues at the beleagured La Liga club who are about to have their presidential elections on Sunday.

Mino Raiola has hit out at PSV Eindhoven and their head coach Roger Schmidt after they dropped his client Mohamed Ittaren for repeated disciplinary problems. According to PSV, Ihatteran has caused issues in training, missed sponsorship appointments and is struggling with his weight. Raiola has denied the accusations, calling them "proven lies", and also said: "Everyone working for the club, the players, and the management have done everything to support Ihattaren and make him a valuable part of PSV. That chance was passed up. PSV have, therefore, decided that the 19-year-old midfielder will not be part of the first team. That isn't correct, isn't it? That is a proven lie because the players, for example, didn't support that decision. PSV made that decision. They even asked for a collective statement, which was turned down."

Inter Owners Shut Club

The owners of Inter Milan have "ceased operations" of their Chinese Super League side Jiangsu FC. Suning have shut down Jiangsu to concentrate on their retail business in China, which has been badly hit by the pandemic. Jiangsu are the current reigning Super League champions and were the club who were trying to buy Gareth Bale from Real Madrid in 2019. A Jiangsu statement read: "Even though we are reluctant to part with the players who have won us the highest honours, and fans who have shared solidarity with the club, we have to regretfully make an announcement. From today, Jiangsu Football Club ceases the operation of its teams. In the past six months the club has been looking around to seek a takeover."
