Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Salford City have been fined £1,750 and Swindon Town £1,500 for a melee in their League Two match, which kicked off after Salford boss Gary Bowyer was booked for pushing a Swindon player. The two clubs admitted failing to enure their players and officials conducted themselves "in an orderly fashion".

Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Anis Mehmeti has been handed a 3-match ban for violent conduct.

Craig Forsyth, the Derby County full-back, also admitted a charge of violent conduct and received a 3-game ban.

The English Football League have found Derby County are once again in breach of financial regulations after the Rams failed to pay transfer fee instalments for an unnamed player.

Rangers have banned three fans from Ibrox after they were identified on a video as singing racist songs on Sunday. The three have also been arrested and charged by police.

Hungary Fans In More Racist Abuse

England beat Hungary 4-0 in a World Cup qualifier in Budapest that was marred by racist abuse. Hungary are already under a UEFA fan ban due to similar issues from supporters during Euro 2020, but were allowed to have fans in the Puskas Arena as this game is under FIFA jurisdiction. England players began the game by kneeling as a protest against racism, which was booed loudly by the Hungarian crowd. In the second half Raheem Sterling was subject to a shower of paper cups and bottles after opening the scoring and a flare was thrown onto the pitch when Harry Maguire scored the third. Declan Rice and Jack Grealish tried to make light of the objects being thrown by pretending to drink out of paper cups thrown at Sterling, but the Hungarian fans just turned to racial abuse of Sterling and Jude Bellingham. During his post-match interview, England manager Gareth Southgate was pelted with ice by Hungarian fans. Despite the racist abuse, which was clearly heard, and the objects that rained down onto the pitch, Hungary's players spent a lengthy time post-match applauding the fans.
