Contracts

Vancouver Whitecaps have given Tristan Blackmon a new deal running until the end of 2023 with a club option for another year.

Teenage defender Linus Gechter has been given a contract which will expire in 2025 by Hertha Berlin.

Girondins Bordeaux's teenage forward Sekou Mara has signed until 2025.

Veteran midfielder Mato Jajalo has extended his deal with Udinese by a year until 2023.

Osasuna's Argentine forward Chimy Avila has extended his contract until 2026.

Athletic Bilbao have given veteran full-back Mikel Balenziaga a 1-year extension to his contract.

Bristol City have extended veteran striker Chris Martin's deal by a year until June 2023.

 


Transfers

German goalkeeper Roman Burki has agreed a deal to join St Louis City of Major League Soccer in July on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

New York City have paid £4.09m to take young Brazilian winger Gabriel Pereira to the MLS from Corinthians.

Polish full-back Tomasz Kedziora has moved to Lech Posnan on loan from Dynamo Kyiv.

Nottingham Forest have sent veteran midfielder Harry Arter to Notts County on loan.

Nigerian forward Sly has been released by Russian side Nizhny Novgorod.

Veteran Brazilian striker Junior Moraes has left Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer to sign for Corinthians.

Former West Ham United youngster Sead Haksabanovic has left Rubin Kazan to join Djurgardens on loan.

Nelson Monte has signed for Almeria on loan from Dnipro Donetsk.

CFR Cluj have taken Lovro Cvek on loan from Zorya Lugansk.

AEK Athens have signed former West Bromwich Albion and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak on loan from Krasnodar.

Ukrainian midfielder Artem Polyarus has signed for Termalica on a free transfer from Akhmat Grozny.

Juventude have released former West Ham United, Birmingham City and Watford forward Mauro Zarate.

 


Injury Round Up

Glen Rea has returned to parent club Luton Town after the midfielder was ruled out of the rest of Wigan Athletic's season with a knee injury.

Ipswich Town forward Kayden Jackson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring problem.

 


Managerial Changes

Peterborough United have appointed Dale Tonge as first-team coach. The 36 year old has worked as assistant manager at Barnsley and Heart of Midlothian previously.

Stevenage have sacked manager Paul Tisdale and replaced him with Steve Evans. Tisdale only joined in November, but managed just 3 wins in 19 league matches with the League Two club to leave them sat in 22nd place.

 


Disciplinary Charges

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has denied making a rude gesture to fans with his middle finger after the defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. A video has been circulated on social media of the 24 year old gesturing to fans angrily as they heckled him but Rashford denies using the middle finger, saying that he "used his forefinger to direct the fan to 'come over and say it to my face'".

The RSPCA has started its prosecution of West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma and his brother Yoan Zouma for filming Kurt kicking and slapping his pet cat. Kurt has continued to be picked for West Ham, while Dagenham & Redbridge suspended Yoan until recently allowing him to return to the squad.

Manchester United are reviewing CCTV footage after Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone was pelted with missiles after the final whistle of United's Champions League defeat to Simeone's Atleti.

Lincoln City defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy has had his red card from the weekend's win over AFC Wimbledon overturned. The teenager is on loan from Arsenal and had been sent off for violent conduct following an off-the-ball incident with Lee Brown.

Rochdale have been charged with breaches of English Football League regulations following an investigation into the attempted takeover by Morton House MGT.

The house of a former owner of Northampton Town has been seized during a probe into a missing £10m loan to the football club. David Cardoza was in charge when £10.25m was borrowed from Northampton Borough Council to help rebuild the East Stand at the club's Sixfields Stadium. The work stalled after contractors went unpaid. £2.1m went to David's dad Anthony, who declared himself bankrupt when ordered to repay it. A portion was used to remodel the home of David and his wife Christina's family home, with David then transferring the property into her name in an an attempt to avoid creditors.

 


Ukraine Invasion

The owner of the Chicago Cubs MLB side have released a statement announcing their interest in buying Chelsea. Investment firm Aethel Partners have also submitted a bid for the London club.

Rangers' first-team players, managers and directors are to make a donation of £72,000 in support of Ukraine following its invasion by Russia.

The Scottish FA are to raise funds for Unicef's work in Ukraine during their March friendly with Poland later this month. £10 from each ticket sold will go to help Unicef deal with the crisis.

Russia captain Artyom Dzyuba has denied that he rejected a call up to the national team's training camp for any "political aspect". The 33-year-old, who is believed to have relatives in Ukraine, said that national coach Valery Karpin's claim that he had declined the call-up over Russia's invasion of Ukraine a "misunderstanding". The forward said that he "wanted to spend time with my family".

 


Barca Get New Sponsor

Barcelona have signed a new sponsorship deal with Spotify, as they attempt to lower debts of over £1bn that the club have run up in recent years. The sponsorship deal is to begin in the summer, so loan as the clubs members ratify the contract in an assembly on 3rd April. The partnership, which is set to run until 2026, will involve the name of the stadium being called Spotify Camp Nou and both men's and women's teams bearing the name Spotify on their shirts.

PNE To Refund Fans

Preston North End are to refund the 614 fans who travelled to see their 4-0 defeat at the hands of Luton Town on Wednesday night. Any unclaimed refunds will be donated to the British Red Cross' Ukraine Crisis appeal following feedback from Preston supporters.
