Disciplinary Charges

Everton have had two appeals against a red card for their Brazilian midfielder Allan rejected. That appeal was also turned down and Allan will now miss 3 games.

VfB Bochum's home Bundesliga match against Borussia Moenchengladbach was abandoned after an assistant referee was hit by a beer thrown from the stands. Gladbach were 2-0 up in the second half when, to quote Bochum, an "idiotic fan" brought the game to a halt. Bochum's players ended up in a confrontation with their own fans following the incident as they angrily remonstrated with them. It was the first time Bochum had been able to welcome a crowd of 20,000 inside the ground as restrictions in Germany were eased.

Bristol Rovers' manager Joey Barton's trial for assaulting his wife has been delayed. Georgia Barton called the police after he grabbed her by the throat and kicked her in the head outside a property. She asked the police to remove him from the property initially telling them that he had pushed her down and kicked her after a drunken fight between them, leaving her with a bloody nose. Now she has written to police to claim she was injured accidentally when friends intervened during a drunken argument.

Investigations have been launched after violent scenes in the crowd before, during and after the Hartlepool United versus Bradford City league game on Tuesday night. Three men were arrested as, according to the police, concrete and class bottles were thrown at police and sticks with nails embedded were brandished amongst the crowd. Hartlepool said three of their security staff at the away end were injured.

Conte Hits Out At Arteta Moans

After Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta complained about an unfair fixture list, his Tottenham Hotspur equivalent Antonio Conte has pointed out that it is Arsenal's fault their fixture list is crowded. Conte said: "Arteta should remember the postponed game. Tottenham-Arsenal. I don't forget this. And it's not right to speak about fair or unfair." Conte is referring to the north London derby in January, which was called off at Arteta's request when his team had just one confirmed CV case. It caused such consternation that the Premier League changed its rules to ensure it could not happen again.
