Transfers

Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur youngster Zeki Fryers has moved to Welling United on a free transfer from Stockport County.

Carlos de Pena has left Dynamo Kyiv for a loan move to Internacional.

Union Berlin's Sporting Director Oliver Ruhnert has revealed that they expect to sell former Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi in the summer. Work permit issues prevented the Nigerian international from making any appearances for Liverpool, despite six years as a Liverpool player. LFC stand to benefit from any sale, which is likely to be a record fee received for Union, as they inserted a 10% sell-on clause in the transfer to the Germans.

Injury Round Up

Netherlands head coach, the former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, is receiving treatment for prostrate cancer.

Reims teenage forward Hugo Ekitike, who the club had agreed to sell to Newcastle United on transfer deadline day in January only for the player to reject a move, has suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury that has been troubling him for 6 weeks. It is expected that he will be out for at least a month more.

Juventus' Italian international Manuel Locatelli has been ruled out for around 4 weeks after suffering a collateral knee ligament sprain against Inter Milan.

Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

The Old Firm match at Ibrox on Sunday was marred by a couple of incidents at half-time. The first saw a member of Celtic's staff hit by a glass bottle thrown from the stands, requiring stitches in a head wound. Another glass bottle broke in the penalty area Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart was set to defend and delayed the kick-off for the second half. Rangers lost 2-1, as the team's bottle also crashed, to fall 6 points behind Celtic in the SPFL table.

Bayern Munich are waiting to find out if the Bundesliga will take action after their 4-1 cruise to victory over Freiburg saw them fielding 12 players for 17 seconds of the game. A mix up saw the wrong number displayed during a double substitution in the 86th minute, with Kingsley Coman unaware it was him to be taken off. Freiburg alerted the officials and a long delay while the confusion was sorted meant that Bayern were only a man up for mere seconds, but that is enough for the possibility of the result being overturned under the rules of the league.

Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot could be facing punishment after accusing the referee of influencing the result in their 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan. French international Rabiot said in a post-match interview that the referee "had decided the game". He then went on to post later on social media that "It's hard to play 11 vs 12", with a number of Juve teammates liking the post.

Poch Criticises Ramos Jeers

Paris Saint-Germain's head coach Mauricio Pochettino has told the PSG fans they should have more respect for Sergio Ramos after his every touch was jeered against Lorient. In a 5-1 win inspired by Kylian Mbappe, the Parisian fans booed as Ramos made just his 6th appearance for PSG by coming on as a second half substitute, then whistled the Spanish defender each time he touched the ball. Pochettino believes the fans are not over the usual failing in the Champions League and that Ramos is "a great champion" who "deserves respect like all the players in the Paris Saint-Germain". There was some potential good news for all connected to the club as Mbappe suggested it was still possible he might sign a new contract as "there are new elements, a fair amount of factors to take into account".
