Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that he is looking to move on from Bayern Munich in the summer window. Lewandowski said: "One thing is certain today, my story with Bayern is over. Lewandowski, who is 33-years-old now, scored 50 times in 46 games for the German champions this season.

Managerial Changes

Ralf Rangnick's stint at Manchester United is to end completely this summer, despite originally having been set for a role as a consultant in the next 2 years.

Newcastle United have finally confirmed the appointment of Dan Ashworth as their sporting director. Ashworth resigned his role as technical director at Brighton & Hove Albion in February to take up the job at Newcastle, but had been on gardening leave while the two clubs negotiated over his transfer.

Disciplinary Charges

Players were forced to flee to safety as Saint-Etienne were relegated from Ligue 1 following a penalty shoot-out defeat in a play-off against AJ Auxerre. St Etienne fans charged onto the pitch at the end of the game, with flares being thrown at the main stand and towards the players' tunnel while riot police used tear gas to combat them. The former French champions have been sanctioned a number of times already over the course of the season due to crowd trouble as Ligue 1 faced a season to forget due to problems with supporters. This match even took place with one stand closed due to fan violence at the game against Monaco in April.

Port Vale head coach Darrell Clarke has been fined £500 by the FA for a touchline scuffle with Swindon Town defender Dion Conroy during Vale's League Two play-off semi-final win over the Robins.

Blues Takeover Complete

The takeover of Chelsea by the Todd Boehly-led consortium has been completed. Chelsea were put up for sale in March by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich before he was sanctioned by the British government for his links to Vladimir Putin, in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Since he was sanctioned, Chelsea have been forced to operate under a special government license which would have expired today. Boehly stated: "We are honoured to become the new custodians of Chelsea Football Club. We're all in - 100% - every minute of every match. Our vision as owners is clear: we want to make the fans proud. Along with our commitment to developing the youth squad and acquiring the best talent, our plan of action is to invest in the club for the long term and build on Chelsea's remarkable history of success. I personally want to thank ministers and officials in the British government, and the Premier League, for all their work in making this happen." It is believed to be the most expensive takeover in sports history and consequently makes Chelsea the most expensive sports organisation in the world.
