Foxes Debts Lessened

Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has turned the club's debts to parent company King Power International into equity, so clearing the club of the outstanding amount of £194m. A club statement explained: "These loans have been provided by KPI to the club over the last four years to fund the construction of the club's world-class new training ground at Seagrave and to continue to support the club's investments into its squad and women's football during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their conversion into equity serves to strengthen the club's balance sheet, reduce its interest costs, and provide further evidence of KPI's commitment to supporting the club's long-term sustainability." The family did the same thing in 2013, when £103m of debt was cleared from the books.

Man Utd Trio To Also Play Non-League Footie

Manchester United's new 'Pro Experience Programme', which they launched in October 2021, has been stepped up to a new level for this year. Initially it meant youth players in the under-21 set-up going out to EFL clubs to spend time with them gaining 'work experience' training with them. Now they have decided to extend the scheme to put a triplet from their youth teams, Sonny Aljofree, Joe Hugill and Maxi Oyedele, out to play for National League side Altrincham and to continue to play and train for the Red Devils' U18 and U21 sides. The trio are technically on a loan deal, but the Premier League permits a flexibility to loan deals with non-league sides which will allow this plan to be utilised. Nick Cox, Man Utd's Head of Academy, said: "We are always looking for unique and innovative development opportunities. Being able to create a flexible and bespoke programme for our players is vital as we look to tailor each of their experiences to maximise the development process. The scheme caps off an excellent loan window for the Academy where we placed every player at an optimum club to enable them to return to United with more experience and ready for the next step in their careers."
