The Rangers Board are going to have to make some serious decisions

I don't know about anyone else but i'm sick of hearing about our past. It is exactly where it is, in the past and this is the present and it's time to worry about the present and future - not the past.

Sitting reading posts and hearing folk talk about our current playing squad, let's be frank, it's pretty poor. Rangers players have fallen away over the years, no longer willing to throw themselves in front of a challenge or even put in a good challenge most of the time. Now they have become passengers. Pretty much the same squad has been together now a fair amount of seasons and how many leagues and cup competitions have they won?

I mean, we have been put out by clubs in cup competitions that have a shoe lace budget compared to ourselves, which shows a lack of fight, hunger and desire from most of these current players, which is pretty pathetic. They not only make the club look bad, they make themselves look bad and hence why no one comes in with real bids, which could have taken them to better leagues.

We look across the City, they have rotated their playing squad for years now. Some come in and are away the next season on big transfers, no messing about. Is it not time, Ross Wilson and the scouting team done their jobs and moved these players on, to bring in real quality across the pitch? It can be done without breaking the bank if they scouted players in various leagues and continents and did proper homework, not just gambling on crocked players.

Let's be honest, if we want to be a team that can compete in Europe and domestically and actually achieve silverware, we need todo a lot better.

Sakala looks a lovely chap with a big smile and can run all day, but his end product is not good enough; possibly decent against your Kilmarnock's and Ross County's, but if we're serious in mounting a real challenge to Celtic and getting a good run back in Europe's elite clubs, we need a lot better and that's where Ross Wilson and our scouting team are letting us down.

Just not good enough I'm afraid and sick of saying it, season after season. How we keep saying we haven't the money to compete; does anyone know how much money we have actually spent on transfer's and wages in total over the past 5 years? I don't know the exact figure, but let me tell you this - it's a hell of a lot for Scottish football, I know that and what have we won? Can anyone on here tell me truthfully the outlay really has been worth the return? I say not.

Far too many passengers in our team and they've been getting away with it for far too long. Too happy sitting back getting a good wage and achieving no silverware. I honestly wouldn't see Celtic fans putting up with some of the lacklustre displays we have seen over the past few years, like getting knocked out of cup competitions and not having the will or fight, or desire to be winning every game and putting up a real fight for the league.

Players unwilling to put themselves in harms way, unwilling to properly put in a challenge incase of injury, yet we have a room full of crocks, which is bizarre considering most don't put themselves in harms way for the jersey, the way the Goughs, Butchers and Amorusos etc. of the world did.

We have a real weak minded squad and too many stupid gambles on players with injury histories that have been gambled on and for what reason? We really could have had a decent young squad, so many good players we let slip through our fingers without even trying to sign them.

Various players from Aberdeen, Hibs and Dundee United over the past few seasons, all of which would not have cost us an arm or leg. Players who knew the league, were young and ready to develop under better coaching and would have better sell on values, yet we go for the ones with the bad injury backgrounds and players who have not really done well at their own clubs, unknown players we really have taken on some woeful gambles over the best part of 5 years and hasn't worked in our favour. How many of them have we seen walk right back out the door?

We need a clear out this summer and unfortunately the Rangers Board are going to have to make some serious decisions with regards to the playing squad, with the amount of money they are going to have to commit or not commit too. They need to decide what they want for the club going forward.

Are we just a Rangers club, happy to sit second and keep having the mishaps in the cup competitions to the weaker opposition in Scottish football? Are we looking to try to mount a serious run in Europe? If so, what competition are we going to try seriously to get into? The Champions League again or going for a Europe run?

If it's either or, then money will need to be spent on the squad and it needs to be a better standard of player. If Ross Wilson and co. can't produce what we need, then maybe the Board need to look at their positions. Are the Board getting their money's worth from Ross Wilson and the scouting team? Does the lack of success on the Park tell us or them the answer?

All need to be gone if we are serious in investing in the squad and progressing this team and making a winning squad again. Lundstram, Roofe, Kamara, Tavernier, Helander, Davis, Arfield, McGregor, Wright, Sakala, Jack, Hagi, Barasic, Davis, McLaughlin, Colak?

With Kent and Morelos, i honestly think we can do better for the money now? Both are not as good as they once were and we just keep waiting and waiting for better from both of them and it's not happening.

Look at Celtic, for roughly the same money, they have players playing a lot better than these two, so we must do better if we want to compete properly and seriously?

On a side note, Tavernier has been a great servant and some great stats, but for the team to progress and move on, we need to install a new Captain. Tavernier just doesn't have it in him to pull players aside and fire the team up. We have been missing a true Captain in the squad for some time now and in order for this to be remedied, then he needs to go and find a new challenge - Sorry Tav.

Time for a change and time for decisions from the Board.
