Football News: Liverpool Review v Arsenal

Liverpool Review v Arsenal

Liverpool FC won against Arsenal! And already top of the Premier League table! We have learned by now that Arne Slot does use the 1st half to assess the situation and is more cautious.

1st half, indeed, we weren't doing great, but we didn't give too many chances away. Quality was lacking from both sides, especially in the set pieces from Arsenal.

2nd half, from 60mins onwards, we turned the screws on and deservedly won the game.

Kerkez, we already knew he is suspect defensively and he does give me Moreno vibes, but thought he did better today.

VVD, took charge of the defence and nothing was getting past him.

Konate had a better game but still ain't great, constantly missing headers but won the ground battles.

Thought Gomez did really well after coming on, except for one instance. If he were to stay, and keep fit, he did be useful this season.

Szoboszlai, Gerrard-esque free kick goal and a completely dominant performance.

Gravernberch, totally in control even after the yellow. Not yet the form of last season, but going in that direction.

Endo, took one for the team and did what he is brought on to do - shut the game down.

Thought Macca did ok but didn't really impose himself on the game and Jones provided more mobility when he came on. He also seemed to move the ball along faster and if he keeps this up, he will be an important squad player as he has the quality to make a difference.

Writz is still adjusting and I would give him time. Some players just take a while more to be used to the PL and he certainly is struggling for now, but I believe he will come good.

Salah actually came alive in the 2nd half and is still an outball when we are hemmed in.

Same for Gakpo, he ran at them a couple of times and is a threat when ball at feet, coming in to pop a shot.

Ekitike, didn't really have much of a chance today, but led the line fine. I can see him getting even better in his link up play and being a fulcrum of our attacks.

Chiesa had a good run and shot. Likes him, but still not very sure he did be a good stand-in CF as he looks the physicality.

Now let's wrap up the final transfers and be unstoppable this season!
