When will the Rangers panto end

It seems to go on and on and on .... I think you get my point already.

The pantomime that is Rangers FC just seems to continue and it seems the fans are no closer to the transparency that they so desperately crave for their much maligned club to move forward.

With todays match at Cowdenbeath falling foul to the weather, Rangers head into next weekend Old Firm League Cup Semi Final having not kicked a ball with any real significance for the best part of 3 weeks, as well as on a back drop of yet more boardroom unrest.

If news reports are anywhere near accurate, it seems that Mike Ashley is prepared to strengthen his grip on the Gers boardroom with a further crisis loan to the tune of approx £10 million, but it wont be secured on the fans beloved Ibrox stadium. The question remaining, what is the Sports Direct tycoons end game in all of this? This is surely a loan that Rangers can not afford to repay with the company hemorrhaging money at an alarming rate each month, and with the SFA blocking Ashley's bid to increase his current shareholding in the club, his investment as it stands can not be converted into shares. So where do Rangers and Ashley stand after and if monies change hand? Security is alleged to be given over Murray Park HQ, Edminston House and the Albion Street Car Park and if the security is called in where does it leave Rangers in terms of revenue as these assets would surely be rented back to Rangers who have no spare cash as it is.

It seems that Dave King and the Three Bears consortium would be the potential Knights in shining armour, but shining Knights have come and gone at Ibrox more often than CEO's and finance directors.

King has made his move known by snapping up a significant amount of shares in the company and calling for an EGM, his resolutions are to remove members of the board and have them replaced by himself and some colleagues which include Paul Murray, and with both King and Murray having been in directorship at Oldco Rangers there are also question marks whether they would fulfill A.I.M and SFA criteria to once again become involved at boardroom level with Rangers.

The Three Bears consortium have offered a significant loan, which would be converted to shares in a future share issue to help the current cash flow crunch, with wages being due at the end of the month, but apart from that they haven't really shown their hand in this whole sorry saga but between these 2 groups lies the best chance at "Rangers men" being appointed to steer this sinking ship to safety.

With rumours appearing each day that the Easdale brothers have sold their shares, or American Robert Sarver is returning with an improved bid, or Charles Green wanting to return to the fold, Rangers fans are no nearer to knowing what the future holds than they did at the start of the month.

Who would have thought that in the week running into an Old Firm cup semi-final that the starting line-up wouldn't have been the most important announcement that the Rangers fans would be looking for.
