Football News: Huth Signs Permanent Deal With Leicester

Last season Leicester City performed what was almost a miracle to escape the drop zone in the Premier League. There were a couple of players who stepped up for them in the second half of the season and played a huge part in their run of form that saw them not even need the final day to stay in the Prem. One of those players was on loan central defender Robert Huth.

Huth made a significant difference to the defending on show, as the Foxes became a solid unit due to his presence. So it was with great relief that Leicester confirmed his permanent signing this week from Stoke City.

With Huth in the side Leicester looked like they belonged in the Premier League, when before him they looked like a side that was just enjoying their moment in the top flight before returning to the Championship. Alongside the Argentinean midfield general Esteban Cambiasso, Huth breathed belief into the side.

The only problem is that so far Leicester have yet to improve their team, they are merely keeping it at the level it was at last season, even if they add another year for Cambiasso. Now Nigel Pearson needs to add something to improve the quality over last season's team.
