3. Leeds held firm in January because of league position
Leeds United manager Steve Evans has admitted that the club failed to splash out in the January transfer window because of their current league position. The Whites are currently 15th and unlikely to make it into play off contention this season, which made him hold back on taking risks this time round. Evans admits it made no sense to take risks financially, without that chance of the play offs. Evans told the Yorkshire Evening Post: " If we'd been right in amongst the playoffs or in serious trouble, then 100 per cent we'd have put pen to paper on Monday night. Because of where we are, we didn't need to be rash or stupid. I know I'll be backed in the summer because the owner has backed me with Bridcutt, Carayol and Diagouraga. I feel those signings have made us better and so does he. And without being good enough, I think we've got a strong base now."

4. Football Leaks continue to leak
One of the recent set of documents released by the website Football Leaks pertains to the move of Christian Tello from Barcelona to FC Porto. Tello joined the Portugese team on a 2 year loan.
Clause 2.1 of the loan agreement set the loan fee as 3m Euros, 1.5m per season
Clause 2.2 sets out the payment terms as one 500,000 Euro payment in September and 1m Euros in the following July each year.
Clause 2.3 further breaks down the payment terms:
(i) only the initial 500,000 Euro payment will need to be made if Tello plays in every Porto match
(ii) if the player plays no matches then the full fee will need to be paid
(iii) if Tello plays some matches, then the initial 500,000 Euro payment is made and the other 1m Euro will be reduced in proportion to the percentage of Porto's games he plays
Clause 2.3 continues on to explain that any matches he is injured or suspended for will not be counted and that he must play at least 45 minutes of a match for it to be counted.
Clause 3.1 allows for Porto to complete the permanent signing of Tello, subject to later conditions, for a fee of 8m Euros.
Clause 3.2 explains that any loan payments already made will be taken off the 8m amount.
Clause 3.3 gives Barca the option of blocking the permanent move by paying FC Porto 5m Euros.
Clause 4 allows Barcelona to cancel the second season of the loan agreement by making a payment of 5m Euros to FC Porto.
There is also a loan termination agreement, which saw a mutually agreed termination of Tello's loan in January, so that the player could instead join Fiorentina of Italy's Serie A on loan for the rest of the season.
Clause 2 a) sets an amount of 375,000 Euros to be paid by FC Porto to Barca to end the loan.
Finally there is an agent agreement with Jose Maria Orobitg and FC Porto for the deal, for advising the club on negotiation strategy, acting as an intermediary between club and player and for convincing the player to accept Porto's offer over other offers available. For his services he was paid:
Clause 2.1 175,000 Euros on the 31st September 2014. 200,000 Euros more on 31st September 2015 and also 10% of the difference between those two amounts and the total remuneration paid by the club to the player each season.
Clause 2.2 requires Porto to pay the agent a further 640,000 Euros if they decide to turn the loan into a permanent deal.

5. Lenighan has contract torn up following assault on a woman
Rotherham United have terminated the contract of former Leeds United midfielder Simon Lenighan despite the 21 year old only joining in November. He was placed on suspension 4th December, just a week after signing, as the club received news of his actions on a drunken night out. Lenighan was found not guilty in a rape case and went on a night out to celebrate, which ended with him in further trouble with police after he headbutted a woman and assaulted two of her friends outside of a Harrogate nightclub. Lenighan had pleaded guilty escaping jail but was sentenced to a 12 month community order including 150 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay damages. The story only came to light after he signed for Rotherham, who had been unaware of the incident when they agreed to sign him. A Millers statement read: "Following an internal investigation in to the matters recently in the press and following the reported conduct of the player, Rotherham United can announce that it has terminated the contract of Simon Lenighan. The club will be making no further comment on this matter."

6. Cellino eradicates number 17 at Leeds
Not only has Leeds United's majority owner Massimo Cellino had every number 17 seat removed from Elland Road and replaced with a 16b, and reportedly released goalkeeper Paddy Kenny for being born on the 17th of May, he has now made changes to the matchday programme at Leeds. Cellino suffers from heptadecaphobia, the fear of the number 17, and so this weekend's matchday programme for the game against Nottingham Forest, which should be 17 is instead 16b.

8. Aguero gives City edge says Hart
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has backed 'killer' Sergio Aguero to give them the edge over Leicester City when the two sides meet this weekend. "He's a phenomenal player, he's a killer. He got one chance, stuck it in the corner and won us the game," Hart said of Aguero. Hart also backs his team mates to deal with the threat possessed by another striker in top form, the Foxes' Jamie Vardy. "[We will deal with him] the same way we dealt with him when we played at their place," Hart said. "He's a top player and he's really on top of his game at the moment, but we've got the same and we look forward to the challenge. He's doing well, but we're going to look to stop him."

9. Elliot apologises for defeat
Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has apologised to the club's fans for their destruction at the hands of Everton on Wednesday night. Steve McClaren's side slumped to a 3-0 defeat, but it could have been far worse, as Elliot was tested repeatedly with the Toon being second best all over the pitch. To make matters worse, Newcastle suffered injuries to Chancel Mbemba and Paul Dummet, while Jamaal Lascelles was sent off in injury time meaning the Tyneside club will be missing three key defenders. Newcastle are currently 18th place in the Premier League, occupying one of the relegation places. "Obviously I cannot speak highly enough of the fans," said Elliot. "I can only apologise that we didn't get the result that we should have got. I will tell them though that we will do everything we possibly can to put it right for Saturday. I think we need to look at our away form, because it is something we need to address. Even this season I think the performances prior to this haven't been as bad as the form has suggested, but we need something to start getting us going away from home. But a massive thank you to the fans, and obviously (the) performance wasn't acceptable. We hold our hands up to that."

10. Kanchelskis backs Depay to be the best in the world
Manchester United nipped in to sign Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven as their most heralded summer signing. The 21 year old was highly rated and expected to shine, but, after early promise, his performances have not lived up to expectations, to the point he has found himself on the bench a lot of late. Andrei Kanchelskis, the former jet-heeled United winger, is backing Depay to fulfil his potential and become the best winger in the world. "He [Depay] is a very good player," Kanchelskis said on 888sport. "He's a skilful winger with good crossing ability and a great change of pace. He has the potential to become the best winger in the world."
