You know what you will get from Tony Pulis teams each season, they will be awful to watch, attempt to kick and intimidate the opposition into submission and generally bore a few into finishing below them. They are never going to be pretty and play nice football to watch, but they can usually be relied upon to be safe. Both from winning any trophies and relegation battles. Midtable mediocrity is Pulis's level.

That is why the Welshman was brought to the Baggies, to ensure safety while the club changed hands to new owners. However, even mediocrity seems to be beyond this current team, with a relegation battle again looming on the horizon. The rough house tactics and long ball game are no longer able to work on the footballing teams, that would once have suffered badly at their hands. Now it is a battle to even snatch a point at the hands of the teams Pulis would usually expect his teams to bully into defeat.

West Brom are 16th place, just 3 points ahead of the relegation places, with the Hammers now beginning to pick up points, and Swansea City expected to improve under new manager Bob Bradley, there is a very real danger of them ending up in the relegation places. Despite this, Pulis was given a one year contract extension, rather surprisingly, as there has been little, if any, sign of the club moving forward. They may well regret that decision, if things do not start picking up soon.

Will they be able to keep the fans onside, when the lack of entertainment is even worse than the results? When the chances of enjoying the game are lower than the chances of West Brom lifting the Champions League trophy at the end of the season, there is only so much that the fans can take. Without the fans, there is little chance of avoiding relegation.
