Transfers

Former Rangers defender Bilel Moshni has joined Dundee United until the end of the season. "I am delighted to be back in Scottish football," Mohsni said. "I played under [United chief scout] Paul Sturrock down south and he was always talking about this club to me. I know all about Dundee United. Once the manager made the call, I knew I wanted to come to Tannadice and I want to help United win as many games as possible and achieve our goal of promotion."

English Championship side Aston Villa have signed American winger Indiana Vassilev. The 17 year old had been on trial with the Brummies in October after he left the IMG Academy in Florida to move to Birmingham, as you do.

Stam Sacked By Reading

Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has been sacked by Championship club Reading after a run of just one win in eighteen games. Last season Stam led the Royals to the play-off final but this season they are sat in 20th, just three points clear of the drop zone. Majority shareholders Mr Yongge Dai and Ms Xiu Li Dai said in a statement the club had "wanted to give Jaap every opportunity to turn around what has been a difficult and challenging Championship campaign. After careful consideration, the decision has been made that a change is now necessary. We will now focus on identifying and recruiting the right person to take the club forward."

Toure Pulls Out Of Ivory Coast Squad

Yaya Toure's return to the international fold has made a false start. The Manchester City midfielder was called up for friendly matches against Togo and Moldova but, after being a no-show initially, he has now informed the staff that he will not be joining up, citing family reasons.

Wilshere Admits Being Told He Could Leave Arsenal In The Summer

England midfielder Jack Wilshere was told in the summer, after returning from a largely unsuccessful loan spell with Bournemouth last season, that he was free to leave Arsenal, but, surprise surprise, the oft-injured Wilshere was not fit. Wilshere said: "He gave me the opportunity [to leave] with three or four weeks left in the transfer window. I did not find anything that I wanted and at the same time I was not really fit, so I decided that I wanted to stay and build up my fitness. It was an honest conversation. We have known each other long enough where we can have that relationship where we are honest with each other. It was boiling up for a while because everybody knew I had a year left on my deal and I had been out on loan, got injured, and wasn't really in his plans. He said, 'I am going to be honest with you and at the moment we are not going to be offering you a contract, so if you can get a contract somewhere else, you can go'. Obviously I was not happy with that, but at the same time I was happy he was being honest."

Senegal Reveal Everton Midfielder Injury

Idrissa Gana Gueye is out of the Senegal squad after tests revealed a muscle tear that Senegal manager Aliou Cisse claims will keep him out for three weeks. Cisse said: "My squad is almost complete, but 'Gana' had a muscle tear when he came over. I had wanted him to be in my team, but I think he will be out for three weeks. I wanted him to come over with the rest of his national teammates, so we could assess his injury. He was able to do so." If Cisse is correct, that would also rule the energetic central midfielder out of Everton's games against Man City and the derby versus Liverpool.

James Launches YouTube Channel

His career might have been disappointing on the pitch, as the Colombian superstar James Rodriguez flopped at Real Madrid and was sent on loan to Bayern Munich, but off the pitch he is still going strong. Added to all his adverts etc, James has now got his own YouTube channel named 'Canal 10' after his favoured shirt number.

Prosecutors Open AC Milan Investigation

Prosecutors in Italy have opened an investigation into the sale of AC Milan to a Chinese businessman due to claims of suspect financial dealings. A consortium headed by Li Yonghong bought the club from Silvio Berlusconi for 740m euros using offshore funds. The club then went on a spending spree in the summer but have since been dogged by rumours of financial problems, not helped by the club taking a massive loan to make repayments and their issues with UEFA over FFP restrictions.

Monchi Reveals That No Offers Have Been Made For Alisson

Roma's goalkeeper Alisson has been the subject of numerous rumours this season, as he stars for the Italian giants, but Monchi has denied reports of any bid being received, after he was questioned regarding interest from Real Madrid. Monchi said: "There are many rumours about it every day, but no offers have arrived...He's the starter for the Brazilian national team, he's made huge progress this season and he's contributed to the growth of the team. Just look at the 10 clean sheets in the league and the decisive saves in the Champions League. He's only 26, he still has room for improvement and he transmits an air of calm to the team. We're very happy with his performance. Have there been offers for him? None. There are many rumours about it every day, but no offers have arrived."

Gala Confirm Nagatomo Talks

The president of Turkish club Galatasaray, Mustafa Cengiz, has confirmed that they are trying to turn the loan move of Yuto Nagatomo from Inter Milan into a permanent deal. Cengiz said: "With him on the field, so many Japanese people come to the stadium and this makes us happy. The club is negotiating for Nagatomo but if I speak about him, and the Italians are awake, they increase his price."

Cuello Confirms Talks With Inter

After reports linked Argentine teenager Tomas Cuello with a move to Inter, the Club Atletico Tucuman midfielder has revealed talks are ongoing. Cuello said: "Yes, it's true, I have spoken with the Nerazzurri and my representatives are continuing to negotiate with the club. To be linked with a club like Inter makes me really happy. It would be a dream to play for them. Of course, it would please me to wear the Inter shirt and I would also love to play in the Premier League."

Stevenage Appoint Maamria

Former Stevenage player Dino Maamria has returned to the club as a replacement for sacked manager Darren Sarll, who left on Sunday. Maamria was managing National League North side Nuneaton, prior to his appointment at Stevenage. Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace said: "I have always loved his passion for the club, our fans and for winning football matches. The Nuneaton chairman was outstanding in the way he handled our interest but he was desperately sad to see Dino leave after the difference he had made to their results."

The plans also include nine apartments, a public walkway along the river and new restaurants, bars, corporate hospitality and event space.
