Review of the Day

Posh Transfer List Unlucky Thirteen

Peterborough United, who finished the season in 9th place in League 1, have transfer listed 13 members of their playing squad. Manager Steve Evans said: "It is in the best interests of everyone if they move on. It goes without saying there will be significant interest in a number of them, some will be subject to transfer fees, but again that is a financial decision taken by the chairman and the board." Fomer Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor, Jack Baldwin, Anthony Grant, Chris Forrester, Michael Doughty, Alex Penny, Jermaine Anderson, Brad Inman, Adil Nabi, Andrea Borg, Ricky Miller, Junior Morias and Morgan Penfold are the thirteen. Young midfielder Callum Chettle has also been released.

Cheltenham Town Look To Non-League Football

Following the success of Mo Eisa, who Cheltenham picked up from Greenwich Borough, Cheltenham have once more looked to the non-league ranks for a player. This time they have picked up 24 year old former Tottenham Hotspur and Blackpool youngster Alex Addai from Merstham. Cheltenham manager Gary Johnson said: "He is the quickest and most direct player at that level, with the most pace I have ever worked with. He came to our attention playing in non-league in London, like Mo (Eisa)." The Robins also agreed a fee to sell midfielder Harry Pell to an unnamed club.

Barnsley Manager Leaves

Following Barnsley's relegation from the Championship, head coach Jose Morais has left the club with just 3 wins in 15 matches. The former Real Madrid and Chelsea assistant manager had a clause in his contract to leave if the club were relegated.

Outgoing PSG Manager Emery Claims Mbappe Wanted Madrid Or Barca To Sign Him

Unai Emery has revealed that last summer's other big signing, Kylian Mbappe, had to be persuaded to make the move to Paris Saint-Germain from AS Monaco as he was holding out for a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Emery said: "When I met his father, and himself, at home, the player wanted to go to Madrid or Barca, and it was the club and I who told him that he had to be in France. Historically, this type of French player, who was just 18 years old and was starting to show up, was leaving France, and as a Frenchman, you must be proud to have Mbappe at PSG. The French must be happy that he stays in France, because before the players like him, like [Thierry] Henry, went to England or Spain."

Emery Also Revealed Neymar Shuts Himself Off From PSG Team-Mates

Not content with revealing Mbappe was not really keen on a move to PSG, Unai Emery has also revealed that Neymar Jr, the world record signing, has not integrated with the team and that his commercial activities get in the way of him settling in to France. Emery told SFR Sport: "He goes to his house and shuts himself off. He's not there every day, but he's not yet immersed himself 100 per cent in Paris, the French league, the difficulties, the different football. It's all a process, and at PSG we have been integrating him into the group, where we want him to feel welcome. He has to be patient, we've done 50 per cent of the work with him, the other 50 per cent is missing at the moment. That Neymar, after training, has to do four different publicity activities is not the best, but you have to understand it because he is a massive global star who has an impact. He still has to adapt to Paris and to his teammates, not just the Brazilians."

Sarri Reveals Release Clause

As things turn sour at Napoli following public criticism of him by president Aurelio De Laurentiis and poor form all but ceding the title to Juventus, Maurizio Sarri has revealed his contract with the Neapolitans has an 8m euros release clause. Sarri said: "There is a contract that has a clause worth €8m. We have 10 days [after the final league game] to evaluate the situation. The president gave me the chance to coach the team I've supported since childhood, a satisfaction very few people have enjoyed. If he's happy and I'm happy, then that's great. If he is not happy, then I'm disappointed, but every now and then Aurelio does make these statements and then 30 minutes later it's back as if nothing had happened."
