Cuper Quits Egypt
Hector Cuper has quit his role as Egypt manager after presiding over a shambolic campaign, undermined by the idiocy of the Egyptian FA's actions throughout the build up and during the tournament. Cuper's tactics, which are best described as negative, were hampered by the hoo-hah around star man Mohamed Salah. Not just his injury, but also the Egyptian FA's attempts to upset him at every turn. Added to that, Cuper had no idea how to take the game to opponents and just wanted to play everyone behind the ball and hit long balls to Salah. I doubt anyone in Egypt will be particularly sorry to see him go.
Celtic Take Odubajo On Trial
After having a couple of injury-hit seasons, Moses Odubajo has been released by Hull City after being unable to play a competitive game for the Tigers since the 2016 play-offs. The 24 year old full-back has joined Celtic on the pre-season trip to Austria for a trial with the Scottish champions.
