Transfers

Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn has signed for Southampton. Saints have paid £13.5m for the England U-21 international, who is the son of former Scotland and Norwich City keeper Bryan Gunn.

Reece Burke has left West Ham United to sign for Hull City. The 21 year old defender has joined the Championship side for an undisclosed fee.

Scunthorpe United have signed goalkeeper Jonathan Flatt after a successful trial (well obviously successful or they would not have signed him!). The 23 year old came through Wolverhampton Wanderers academy before being released without making a single first team appearance for Wolves.

AFC Wimbledon have signed Tennai Watson on a season-long loan from Reading.

Bristol City winger Jonny Smith has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for the season.

Poland international right back Pawel Olkowski has joined Championship club Bolton Wanderers after leaving Cologne in the summer.

Following his release by Newcastle United in the summer, 22 year old wideman Alex Gilliead has moved to Shrewsbury Town.

Cheltenham Town have made their 9th signing of the seasonby picking up free agent defender Josh Debayo. The Nigerian was released by Leicester City in the summer.

Livingston have sold striker Dylan Mackin to Falkirk for an undisclosed fee.

Doncaster Rovers have signed midfielder Ali Crawford from Hamilton Academical. The 26 year old is the first signing of the Grant McCann era at Donnie.

Sheffield Wednesday's Scotland international striker Jordan Rhodes has joined Norwich City on a season-long loan.

Lucas Torreira joins Arsenal after a long drawn out transfer. The 22 year old Uruguay international midfielder is joining from Sampdoria for a £26m fee.

Former Spanish international striker Fernando Torres has followed another Spanish World Cup winner, Andres Iniesta, in making a move to Japanese football. The 34 year old former Liverpool and Chelsea forward was released by boyhood club Atletico Madrid and has agreed a deal with Sagan Tosu.

Riyad Mahrez has finally completed his move to current Premier League champions Manchester City from former Prem champions Leicester City for a club record fee. Man City have paid around £60m to sign the 27 year old Algerian winger had been looking for a move away from the Foxes since they won the league.

Cristiano Ronaldo, at the age of 33, has become the 4th most expensive player of all time. The Portugese superstar has left Real Madrid to join Juventus for around £99m after a glittering trophy-laden nine year spell with Madrid.

Rangers have taken AS Roma's Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq on loan for the season.

Valencia have paid £5.4m to buy Danish midfielder Daniel Wass from Celta Vigo.

Torino and AS Monaco have done a swap deal of sorts, as midfielder Soualiho Meite has gone to Torino for £9m and left-back Antonio Barreca moves the other way for £10.8m. Monaco has also picked up a right back, with the signing of Ronael Pierre-Gabriel from Saint-Etienne.

VfB Stuttgart have completed the signing of Nicolas Gonzales from Argentinos Juniors.

Wilson Signs New Liverpool Deal

Welsh international winger Harry Wilson has signed a new contract with Liverpool. The 21 year old has yet to make the breakthrough with the first team, just one substitute appearance to his name, but he impressed on loan last season with Hull City.

Courtois Hits Out At France

Chelsea's Belgium keeper Thibaut Courtois has blasted France after they beat his Belgian side in the World Cup semi-final. Courtois said: "It's just an anti-football team. Their striker plays 30 metres from his own goal." He also went on to say that he would rather have gone out to Brazil, because they at least try to play football.

Agent Hints At Ospina Stay

Lucas Jaramillo has hinted that his client, goalkeeper David Ospina, will stay at Arsenal. The Colombian international has been linked with a move away following the signing of German keeper Bernd Leno. Jaramillo said: "David has had an excellent World Cup, it has been very important for him, it is not a lie for anyone to say that he finds himself uncomfortable in Arsenal. There are several clubs interested in David, but leaving Arsenal is not easy because they're team that pays well and asks a lot for the player, and we must add that he has a contract for two more years. The priority is Europe, but as I say, we have to wait."

AC Milan Officially Changes Hands

After Li Yonghong's Rossoneri Lux company defaulted on its debt repayment obligations, Elliott Advisors (UK) Limited have officially taken control of AC Milan. Their official statement read: "Ownership and control of the holding company that owns AC Milan has today been transferred to funds advised by Elliott Advisors (UK) Limited ("Elliott"). This transfer has occurred as a result of steps taken to enforce Elliott's security interests after the previous owner of AC Milan defaulted on its debt obligations to Elliott. Having assumed control, Elliott's vision for AC Milan is straightforward: to create financial stability and establish sound management; to achieve long-term success for AC Milan by focusing on the fundamentals and ensuring that the club is well-capitalized; and to run a sustainable operating model that respects UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations. As first measures, Elliott intends to inject €50 million of equity capital to stabilize the club's finances, and plans to inject further capital over time to continue to fund AC Milan's transformation."

Neymar Facing Bullying Allegations

The family of French wunderkind Kylian Mbappe have claimed that Neymar Jr is guilty of locker room bullying of the teenage striker at club side Paris Saint-Germain. It has been claimed that Neymar, and close friend and compatriot Dani Alves, constantly criticise the youngster they have nicknamed 'Donatello', despite Mbappe's dislike of the nickname. A report in El Pais has also claimed that Mbappe and Neymar barely speak and the Brazilian duo will avoid passing to Mbappe if possible. It goes hand-in-hand with similar complaints about Neymar that came from Edinson Cavani early on last season, before the pair were forced to publicly put on a show of solidarity by PSG. While there is no doubt that Neymar has caused problems within the locker room, the timing of this report emerging in Spain, via El Pais, suggests there is a deal to be done for the Brazilian to move to Real Madrid, as has often been mooted. Certainly there will be very few staff at the French club who would shed a tear if Neymar were to leave.
