Teenage West Ham United striker Korrey Henry has joined Yeovil Town on a free transfer. The 18 year old forward had been on trial playing 3 pre-season games to win his contract.
Defender Scott Wharton has returned to Lincoln City on loan for the season from Blackburn Rovers. The 20 year old spent the second half of last season at Sincil Bank as well.
Young winger Ryan Kent has moved to Rangers on a season-long loan from Liverpool.
Republic of Ireland winger James McClean has left West Bromwich Albion to join Stoke City for £5m.
Watford winger Dodi Lukebakio has headed to the Bundesliga on loan to join Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Lorenzo's brother Roberto Insigne has been loaned out from Napoli to Benevento in Serie B.
Guingamp captain Jimmy Briand is leaving the Ligue 1 side to move to MLS football instead. The 32 year old is signing for Montreal Impact.
Pepe Reina completes his move to AC Milan. The 35 year old had been with Napoli last season, as they ran Juventus close for the Serie A title.
Spanish Super Cup To Be Played Abroad
Barcelona and Sevilla will be playing the Spanish Super Cup in Morocco, the first time the game has ever been played abroad and also the first time it will be just a single game, instead of 2 legs. This is Barca's 9th Super Cup in 10 seasons.
Ozil Quits German Set Up
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil no longer wants to play for Germany, following extensive abuse over his meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and being used as the scapegoat for the country's failure in the summer's World Cup. The 29-year-old said treatment he had received from the German Football Association (DFB) had made him "no longer want to wear the German national team shirt". It is little wonder he is also citing racism as a reason for him leaving as he has been called terms such as 'goat-f**ker' by German politicians and told to "piss off to Anatolia" by the chief of German theatre. Hard to blame Ozil for not wanting to play for his country when he has to put up with abuse from fans and prominent figures in the German public eye.
Marquez Retires
After 5 World Cups and trophies in a number of countries, Mexico's legendary defender/midfielder Rafael Marquez has announced his retirement at the age of 39. Marquez picked up his 147th cap for his country in this summer's World Cup.
