Oyston Still Looking To Hold Onto Blackpool
Despite having next to no support amongst the fans, Owen Oyston is looking to hold on to his shares in the north west club. Daughter and club chairman Natalie Christopher said: "In an ideal situation, he'd like to be able to agree a settlement and find the money and move on. He'll only sell if he absolutely has to. If, financially, someone comes along and they can afford to pay the wages and look after it for the next hundred years, then it might be an consideration. It's not his first choice but he's not going to see it come to any harm if he can help it." She also attempted to cast doubt on Valerie Belokon's attempts to take control of the club, which have been ongoing for a long time, with the Latvian currently being unable to pass the fit and proper persons test. Christopher suggested Belokon did not actually want to own the club: "I don't think Mr Belokon wants to take the club on. I think there's been some mixed messages there from everybody. It's been around the town that he wants to come and take it over when I don't think that's his intention. He may surprise us. Owen knows he has the finances to look after it in the future so he'll be comfortable in him taking it and moving forward with it if that's what Mr Belokon wanted to do. It's a difficult situation and it's got to be settled somehow."

Shaw Get Recall
Gareth Southgate, who now seems to be defined by whether or not he is wearing a waistcoat each time he is picked out by TV cameras at a game, has recalled Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw to his squad. He then followed that up by moaning about the lack of English players for him to pick from in the Premier League. Which pretty much explains why the likes of Loftus-Cheek and Lallana have been called up.
