Review of the Day

Henderson Makes Loan Move

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Stephen Henderson has become Wycombe Wanderers third emergency loan signing as their two senior keepers, Ryan Allsop and Yves Ma-Kalambay, remain on the sidelines through injury. Wycombe had previously had Matt Ingram from QPR and David Stockdale from Birmingham City on loan.

Gerrard Hits Back At Levein

After Craig Levein claimed Rangers had 13 men in their win over Hearts, initially saying that "it was like playing against 12 men", in reference to referee Bobby Madden and then upped it to 13, refering to an assistant referee failing to flag the winning goal offside. Gerrard responded saying: "Craig's entitled to his opinion. Like I am when I speak about Hearts or Aberdeen or whoever it may be. I saw the interview when he said they were playing against 13 men. The only mistake I saw in the interview was that it was 14, because our fans were superb on the day. So it was probably 14 they played against."

Wright Gets Manager Of The Month Award

Tommy Wright, the manager of St Johnstone, has been awarded the Scottish Premiership manager of the month for November. Saints won two and drew one of their league matches, without conceding a single goal, last month and moved into 5th in the SPFL.

Valverde Calls Ballon d'Or Voting Absurd

After Lionel Messi finished just 5th in this year's Ballon d'Or voting, his club coach at Barcelona Ernesto Valverde has hit out at the 'absurd' vote. Valverde said: "We congratulate Modric for winning the Ballon d'Or but Messi being in fifth place is absurd. I will not get into discussing the inconsistencies of the prize." Messi won Europe's Golden Boot for the 5th time as Barca lifted La Liga and the Copa del Rey last season.

Watford Set To Appeal Capoue Ban Again

After their initial appeal was dismissed by the Football Association's independent disciplinary panel, Watford say they will appeal against that decision to uphold Etienne Capoue's red card at Leicester City on Saturday. Chairman Scott Duxbury said: "We are very disappointed a majority of the regulatory commission upheld a decision which nearly everyone considered to be an error. The only process by which we can challenge the decision is via arbitration under Rule K of the Rules of the Football Association. That is something which cannot be achieved before our next game this evening, but we will be striving to ensure a hearing is held before the end of this week."

Azpilicueta Signs A New Deal

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new four year contract with the London club. The 29 year old Spanish international is close to making 300 appearances for the Stamford Bridge side after moving from Marseille in 2012. Azpilicueta said: "Since I came, I felt the joy and responsibility to play for this club, these fans. Every time I go on the pitch I try do my best. Hopefully there is a lot to come and we can keep Chelsea where it belongs."

Berizzo Sacked

Athletic Bilbao have sacked their head coach, Eduardo Berizzo after just 8 months in charge of the Basques. The 49 year old Argentine took over in May, just a few months after being sacked by Sevilla last December, a week after returning to work from cancer surgery. Youth coach Gaizka Garitano has been given the job in the short term.

PSG Game Postponed

The Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain and Montpellier has been postponed at the request of the police. The game was set to take place in Paris on Saturday, but the police have asked for the game to be rescheduled to allow them to deal with the wave of violent 'yellow vests' protests currently sweeping the French capital. PSG head coach Thomas Tuchel said: "We accept this postponement. We'll have to manage this situation to stay in shape before Belgrade. Security is absolutely important." Lyon's game against Toulouse has also been postponed. Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas said: "It's a last-minute decision. It marks the current turmoil in a society that prioritises things that we would not like to see. I do not know if there were any risks. Maybe the whole day will be cancelled because it poses a problem of fairness. The calendar is very busy for the European teams. One must be factual and bow to the force of events. We will adapt."

Rafinha Suffers Third Knee Injury

Barcelona midfielder Rafinha has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be out for at least 6 months after undergoing surgery. The 25 year old Brazilian has previously suffered the same injury in his right knee and was out for seven months last year with a meniscus injury.

Klopp Accepts Misconduct Charge

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has accepted his charge for misconduct after running onto the pitch to celebrate Divock Origi's 96th minute winner in the Merseyside derby on Sunday. Klopp said: "That's what rules are for. I couldn't avoid it. If you break the rules you have to be fined for it. If there was no rule then managers would constantly celebrate on the pitch. I don't think anyone thought it was massively wrong. The last time I did that was about 14 years ago. I'm not as quick now." Everton manager Marco Silva said: "It's the emotion of the game. It's a normal situation - he's celebrating. If you ask me, I think he shouldn't [have been fined] but the FA has to decide what the rules are. Players celebrating with the fans, some of them taking their shirts off, Klopp or myself or the others celebrating with the fans or with one player, I think it's part of the game and is something you can't stop. It's really important as well, even if sometimes you get fined, this passion in the game." Klopp was fined £8,000 and warned over his future conduct.
