Review of the Day

Swans Want James' Talks

Swansea City manager Graham Potter is looking to tie Welsh international winger Daniel James with a new contract. The 21 year old is contracted until 2020 but rumours have been circulated about interest from other clubs. Potter said: "It's something we'll speak about as a club and with the player. We're aware of all the contract situations and it's about the right time for both parties to get things sorted, but I don't have any concerns with Dan."

Leeds Turn To Fan Investment

A Leeds United supporter's group called Leeds Fans Utd is set to have a say in the running of the club at boardroom level and to invest in the club. A Leeds statement said: "The aim of the investment will be to help fund a new training facility and sports village. The investment will secure a new special class of shares ensuring supporters who commit will have a voice in key heritage decisions." The same group had agreed an in principle deal to buy a majority stake in the club from Massimo Cellino in 2015, only for the talks to break down and current owner Andrea Radrizzani stepped in to buy it.

SPFL Clubs Willing To Pay For VAR

Aberdeen and Hearts are both willing to put money towards funding VAR and full-time referees in the SPFL. Both clubs also believe other SPFL clubs would also be willing to do so as Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne said it should be seen "as an investment rather than a cost". Hearts chair Ann Budge said: "The ultimate objective should be to help referees to be able to do their job more easily. I believe that it's a joint responsibility. There is a finite amount of money that comes in, say from broadcasting, and how that's distributed should be reviewed."

Dons To Lose Lowe

Despite Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes speaking to Derby County in an attempt to extend Max Lowe's stay north of the border, Lowe is set to return to the Rams in the January window. McInnes said: "He's brought a different perspective for that left-back role. But we understand Derby's need to have him back - they've been very impressed with him in his time with us."

Transfers

Manchester United youngster Matty Willock has returned to the club after his loan spell with St Mirren was cut short early. The 22 year old was signed by Alan Stubbs in the summer, who has since left his role as manager.

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul has had his Watford contract cancelled by mutual consent. The 32 year old has struggled with injury for most of his career but particularly since joining the Hornets. So much so that he was left out of the 25-man squad for the season.

Croatia goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic is set to join Aston Villa on a four and a half year deal on the 1st January. The 28 year old has been sold by Belgian side Gent for an undisclosed fee. The 6foot 7inch keeper is Dean Smith's first signing.

Hapoel Beer Sheva have released French defender Julien Cetout. The 30 year old only joined the Israelis in the summer.

Amartey Signs New Foxes Deal

Toffees Investigate Allegedly Racist Fan Song For Mina

Everton's on-loan centre back Yerry Mina has been the subject of a song posted as a video on social media which Everton and Kick It Out are working together to investigate, due to allegedly racist content. Kick It Out said: "Racist stereotypes are never acceptable, irrespective of any intention to show support for a player. We have contacted Everton regarding the issue and will be working closely with them to ensure a clear message is sent that the chant is not acceptable." Kick It Out also said they would report any chanting of the song within a stadium to the FA.

Sanchez Denies Bet Story

Manchester United's Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez has denied betting on the sacking of Jose Mourinho with team-mate Marcos Rojo. It was widely reported that Sanchez had told Rojo he owed him £20,000 following the sacking of Mourinho but Sanchez stated the story was false. Sanchez posted on social media: "Jose gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world. I only have gratitude for him. We are a truly United team."

Strugglers No Longer Go Dutch

18th placed Championship side Sheffield Wednesday have sacked manager Jos Luhukay after less than a year in charge. The Dutchman had won 16 and lost 19 of his 49 matches as Owls' manager. Coach Lee Bullen has been handed the caretaker role.
