Review of the Day

Transfers

SPFL's joint leaders Rangers have made a double signing on pre-contracts for the pair to join in the summer. Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones has been a target for the Ibrox giants for a while now and the 24 year old Northern Ireland international winger will finally join next summer. Dundee's former Arsenal midfielder Glen Kamara is also set to join on a permanent deal in the summer when his current deal expires.

French midfielder Mohamed Sylla has signed for League Two side Oldham Athletic on an 18 month deal. The 25 year old moves from 3rd tier French side Entente SSG.

Veteran midfielder David Perkins has teamed up with his former boss Micky Mellon again at Tranmere Rovers, who have signed him from Rochdale on an 18 month deal. The 36 year old also played for Mellon when Mellon was assistant at Barnsley.

Remi Matthews has returned to parent club Norwich City after his loan with Bolton Wanderers ended. The 24 year old goalkeeper was due to make the move permanent this January before Bolton were placed under a registration embargo.

Another Sylla has also moved, this time Guinea international Idrissa Sylla, who has left QPR to sign for Belgian team SV Zulte Waregem for an undisclosed fee.

Former Scotland international Ross McCormack has returned to former club Motherwell on loan from Aston Villa. The 32 year old has been on loan in Australia's A-League with Central Coast Mariners and will now spend the rest of the season with Motherwell, who he joined after graduating through Rangers' youth academy.

West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke has joined Celtic on loan for the rest of the season, subject to a medical. The 21 year old is the most expensive Scottish player of all time due to the Baggies paying £15m to bring the former Nottingham Forest youth star back to English football from RB Leipzig in August 2017.

Partick Thistle have made a double signing as defender Steven Saunders joins from Livingston and goalkeeper Conor Hazard arrives on a 6 month loan deal from Celtic.

Craig Curran has swapped Dundee United for Dundee, as the 29 year old arrives on a 2 year contract.

Former AC Milan midfielder Kevin Constant has joined an Iranian top flight club. Tractor Sazi, which sounds more like Manchester United's latest sponsor than a football club, have signed the free agent 31 year old, who has been without a club since leaving FC Sion of the Swiss league in the summer.

French defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin has left PSV Eindhoven to join Besiktas for a fee of less than £500,000.

Former Germany international Serdar Tasci has found a new club. The 31 year old had been without a club since leaving Spartak Moscva in July but has now signed for Basaksehir of the Turkish Super Lig.

Carl Medjani, one time Liverpool youth prospect in the Houllier era, has been released by Turkish side Sivasspor.

Blackpool Fan Arrested For Arsenal Bus Top Protest

A man who sat on top of Arsenal's team bus to prevent it leaving for the FA Cup tie against Blackpool has been arrested under the Trade Union Act. Arsenal were forced to use a replacement bus to get to Blackpool's Bloomfield Road stadium, entering through a back entrance as more protestors blocked the main entrance. Tangerines' fans have been protesting against the ownership of Owen Oyston since 2015 and that has led to a large drop in gates, with just 3777 home fans at the game itself.

Abraham Set For Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers are awaiting FIFA clearance to sign Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea. The 21 year old has been on loan at Aston Villa for the first half of the season, after playing for Chelsea in the Community Shield and at under-23 level, with FIFA rules forbidding players from playing for 3 clubs a season FIFA are being asked to clarify if either the Community Shield or the under-23s are classed as official games.

Cherries New Signing Ruled Out Through Injury

Bournemouth paid Liverpool £19m for Dominic Solanke only to announce he will not be playing for them in January due to an existing hamstring injury. Howe said: "Dominic will miss most of January. He's got a bit of a hamstring issue so it will be more February before we're likely to see him in action. But we knew about that because he's been through all the medicals and checks."

Colin Hits Out At Liverpool

Football's classiest man, Neil Warnock, has hit out at Liverpool for "a lack of class" over the failed transfer of Nathaniel Clyne to Cardiff City. The man who has been clearly heard instructing his players to "break his f**king legs" when his team was losing badly has been upset by Clyne choosing to play for Bournemouth over Cardiff after a verbal agreement was reached but Liverpool failed to inform him that Clyne had changed his mind. Warnock said: "It's a disgrace. I was disappointed with Nathaniel Clyne, having known the player and giving him his debut [during their time at Crystal Palace]. I'm not just disappointed with the boy himself, but with Liverpool as well for not ringing me, not telling me. To see it on television when I've done everything right and they have promised that he is my player this week, it's a disgrace and a lack of class." Warnock does have a point, LFC were in the wrong, but he only has himself to blame if people treat him with the contempt he has earnt throughout his years in the game.
