Review of the Day

PSG Clinch Title

Paris Saint-Germain's failure to win the title in recent weeks has finally come to an end thanks to second placed Lille's failure to win handing them the title. It is PSG's 6th title in 7 years as the rest of French football struggle to even put forward a meaningful challenge to a club that can go out and blow 400m on just 2 players. They now go after the double when they face Stade Rennais in the French Cup final on Saturday.

PAOK Win Greek League

A 5-0 win over Levadiakos has seen PAOK Salonika lift their first league title for 34 years. PAOK have one game left to finish the season unbeaten. They are also challenging for the domestic double, with a Greek Cup semi-final second leg against Asteris Tripolis to come with PAOK holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Zaha To Stay

According to Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, Wilfried Zaha will stay at Palace for many years to come, despite his comments about wanting to play in the Champions League. Zaha had said, regarding the Champions League: "I should be there. I'm missing out. I don't just want to be at home watching it." However Hodgson believes Zaha will stay with the Londoners: "He's on a four-year contract, he's one of our highest-paid players and he's absolutely adored by the fans and everyone in south-east London. As far as I'm concerned, I'm looking forward to working with him not only in the near future, but I'm looking forward to seeing him in the Crystal Palace shirt for many years to come. The question is how many players, if the question is put to them, would say: 'I don't want to play Champions League football.' You just congratulate the journalist; he's caught him at the right moment and extracted an honest answer out of him. The bottom line is this: he's our player, and he's certainly happy. That wasn't the performance of a guy looking to get away from his club."

Solksjaer Apologises To Man Utd Fans

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has apologised to United fans after their humbling at the hands of Everton on Sunday. Everton ran amok, covering 8km more over the course of the game, to pick up a 4-0 victory over Manchester United to make it 6 defeats in 8 games under Solskjaer. Solskjaer said afterwards: "From the first whistle, everything went wrong. I just want to apologise to the fans. They're the only people with the badge on today who can hold their head high, because we can't. We were beaten on all aspects today and the only place we beat Everton - I can't say we beat them - but we had a fantastic support and I just want to apologise for the performance we turned out. We just didn't perform. That was not worthy of a Manchester United team. That performance is not good enough for a Manchester United team, from me to players, we let the fans down, we let the club down. That performance is difficult to describe because it is so bad. They beat us on all the basics. We were beaten on all the ingredients you need, added to the talent. There is no place you can hide on the pitch. We hold our hands up and apologise to everyone associated with the club. We have a perfect chance to make amends on Wednesday."

Nice Show Interest In Giroud

The president of OGC Nice has admitted they are interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, as the French international is linked with a return to French football. Gauthier Ganaye said: "He is at the end of his contract, he still performs well at his age. Come on, let's tell you it's possible. His salary? Yeah, it's really expensive."

Mbappe Wants PSG Stay But Cavani Refuses To Commit Future

After PSG clinched the French Ligue 1 title, Kylian Mbappe has told reporters he will be staying at PSG and will not be joining Real Madrid. Mbappe told reporters when asked about his future: "Yes, I'm sure I will stay. I'm part of a project here. Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid? It is good for them that they have taken him back, I will follow Real Madrid as a spectator." While Mbappe confirms his intent to stay put, Edinson Cavani refused to to do the same, telling Canal+: "A lot of things happened this season. It's different every year. The most important thing is to be able to keep our team together. My future? I have a contract here. One more year. What do you want? I'm good, serene, happy with the life and the supporters. But in football, you never know."

Sanches Looking For Move

Bayern Munich midfield flop Renato Sanches is looking to move in order to get more football. Sanches said: "I have to play more, five minutes are not enough. A loan would be an option. I just want to play, whether in England, Spain or Portugal. I am not happy here, I am working hard but not playing."
