Contracts

Former Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has signed a contract extension with Lazio. The 32 year old Brazilian is now contracted until 2022.

Transfers

Bournemouth winger Marc Pugh is set to leave the club in the summer at the end of his contract. Pugh spent 9 years with the Cherries, rising up from League Two to the Premier League but was setn out on loan in January to Hull City.

Dundee Relegated

Dundee's relegation from the SPFL has finally been confirmed following a 10th defeat in a row, this time to Hamilton Academicals, who were fighting against relegation themselves. Dundee are now 8 points behind with just 2 matches left to play.

Guinea Seek Second Opinion Over Keita Injury

After receiving the news that Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita could well miss the AFCON in the summer due to a thigh injury he picked up on Wednesday during a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona, Guinea coach Paul Put has said he will look for the opinion of another doctor over Keita's injury. Put said: "We want a second medical opinion and we are seeking the expertise of the doctor in Switzerland who Keita always contacts whenever he's injured. The first report from Liverpool is a third degree injury. Normally such an injury can take six weeks to heal. But I don't know because I'm not a doctor, I don't have medical experience. I have spoken to Keita and we have communicated to Liverpool asking for their medical report. We hope to get the doctor's report next week and we'll compare it with the a second opinion report from the doctor in Switzerland. Then we'll know whether Keita will be available to play the Nations cup."

World's Oldest Pro Club Drop Out Of EFL

Notts County, one of the founder members of the Football League in the 19th century, have been relegated out of the English Football League for the first time in their history. County are 157 years old and have never before had to play in the non-league ranks, with an unpaid tax bill looming over their head in the shape of a winding-up petition to be faced in court next month.

Fulham Sub Sets Prem Record

Late subsitute Harvey Elliot, who came on in the 88th minute of Fulham's 1-0 defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers, has set a new Premier League record for the youngest player ever to play in the league. At the age of 16 years and 30 days, England U-17 international Elliot beat a record previously held by another former Fulham player, Matthew Briggs, who was 16 years and 68 days. He set the record for Fulham's youngest ever player back in September, when he came on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup 3rd round aged just 15.

Celtic Make It 8 In A Row

Celtic have made it 8 Scottish league titles in a row after brushing aside Aberdeen, who are fighting for 3rd place in the SPFL. It also meant that Celtic have won the last 8 domestic trophies handed out, with the club having won the domestic treble in each of the last 2 seasons. They will have a chance to win a third treble in a row with a Scottish Cup final to come against Hearts on the 25th of May.

Bye Bye Colin

Good news in the Premier League as Neil Warnock is relegated once more. The Cardiff City manager's brute force kick the opposition into submission tactics have once more failed to work for him at the top level. The Bluebirds needed a win to keep their hopes fully alive but ended up losing 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace.

Concussed Footballer Plays On, Scores But Remembers Nothing

Mainz 05's Karim Onisiwo was involved in a horrific clash of heads with Ibrahima Konate after 38 minutes of a match against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga but the Austrian was allowed to play on. Just five minutes later he scored an excellent goal but had already forgotten he scored by half-time just a couple of minutes later. Mainz sports director Rouven Schroder said: "He has not remembered his goal at half-time."

Zamparini Sells Palermo

Madcap businessman Maurizio Zamparini has sold Palermo after 17 years and 45 managers. Players will also be glad without an owner who threatens to cut off their testicles and eat them in his salad after a defeat. Sporting Network SRL are the new owners of the club.
