Football News: Manchester United Should Sign A Right Winger This Transfer Window

There is a peculiar theory that the amount of goals a team scores roughly equates to the amount of points they amass.
I'm not sure the stats reliably back the theory but it got me thinking about the Manchester United team and the areas we need to improve.
In SAF's final title winning season we plundered a very respectable 89 league goals. To put that figure into perspective we haven't surpassed 70 league goals since he retired and have scored as few as 49 during Louis Van Gaal's second season.
I think we all accept a title challenge is unlikely so what do we want to see from our team next season?
I've always believed that successful sides are built from the back but maybe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (OGS) should think about doing the reverse. The truth is we've been pretty poor at both ends of the pitch but without any realistic chance of silverware accompanied with the dour and uninspiring football served up over the last few years maybe what we really need is goals.
For all the talk of Centre Backs and our porous defence what we really need is a top quality Right Winger that will allow us to attack down both flanks and bring balance to the team. We need someone with pace and acceleration, somebody that can dribble, beat defenders and score goals. I think somebody like Nicolas Pepe would be a fantastic signing.
At 23, he's the right age with a few decent seasons of first team football behind him. He's physically strong and robust enough to play Premier League football and with 20 league goals last season I believe he'd have a big impact on our team. I think if we also followed up our interest in Daniel James we'd have two young exciting players capable of supplementing our attack. Pepe would go straight into the team on the right with James capable of providing competition on both flanks.
I see no reason (with a good pre season) why Lukaku can't lose a few pounds and become a more agile, mobile player capable of running the channels and pressing from the front. Attacking options of Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Lingard, Pepe and James would surely provide OGS with plenty of goals and versatility.
I think we all want to see a Utd team play with more energy, intensity and fluidity. We all what to see the team work harder, press from the front and get us on the edge of our seats. Maybe attack might just be the best form of defence in the short term anyway. In my opinion a Right Winger should be the priority signing this window.
