My Thoughts on Some of The Current Liverpool FC Players

Over 24 hours on and not many are thinking about the Champions League final match - we are champions of Europe! I'm so happy for all the team and the parade was crazy! I hope every one of those players savours this moment.

A small article of my thoughts on some of the current Liverpool Football Club players:

Alisson, at the start of the season, I knew he was an improvement, but I never knew how much. What a player, all round, calm under pressure and in a game like last night, I don't worry, even with the ball at his feet, which I was at the start!

Trent, local boy, now local hero! I don't want him in midfield, you can't replace him at right back. Him, along with hendo in mane in my opinion, we're the three that didn't look like they were shattered all game. This team is setup for full backs to get forward, and I think we lose something if we had him in midfield.

Virgil van Dijk, a giant of a man. Deserves all the recognition he is getting, turning into a true leader, and is 7/ 10 minimum every week, long may it continue.

Matip, he's had his doubters, me included, but when we needed him, we finished the season winning every game, and a clean sheet in the last two CL games speaks for itself. I think he just needs a run of games to be confident and up to speed, but that's problematic if he's not first choice.

Robbo, I bet his dream 5 years ago was to play for Burnley or someone. Crazy how his career has took off, and it's through effort and pride and hard work.

Henderson brings the passion. That moment with his dad was incredible! I bet he was beginning to wonder if it was an always the bridesmaid type thing for him, but when the chips are down, we are a better team with him in it.

Milner, won it all in the English game now. A true sportsman, role model and legend. It was 100% the right decision not to start him, because when he came on, I knew we were in safe hands.

Fabinho, first season, and hasn't he settled well. The back four must love him. A player like him allows Trent and Robbo to flourish. I love having an enforcer, someone who can put themselves about, break up play.

Gini, the hero of the Champions League for Liverpool, his smile says it all! An all rounder who I just think if he knew how good he was, would be even better. This time last season weren't we thinking about selling him? I could see him getting 10 plus goals next season if he believes.

Keita, whilst it was stop start, I'm glad he contributed later in the season with goals. A building block to push on, appreciate the city, and play for the shirt. Next season, I expect big things.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Ox), whilst he barely played, he deserved this too, can't wait for him to be back and firing. Don't think we need a creative midfielder, Ox and Keita will play more next season, hopefully adding more from the middle, and Henderson pushing up certainly did too. We have 6 capable central midfielders, who all deserve playing time, and Ox is one who can push forward and bring goals.

Mane, what can I say, probably our brightest attacking player most weeks. His work rate is incredible, he calmness on the ball, and ability to ghost past players. Judging from his interviews I think it's dawned on him how much he means to the fans, and what he can achieve with Liverpool.

Salah, whilst he has terrified defences every week, he hasn't hit the dizzy heights of last year, but that was a freak year and now he's being doubles and tripled up on. I do think he is a little selfish at times, but we need that, when he's on form he is unplayable. I hope he realises he can achieve everything with us.

Firmino, I'm sure he doesn't care, but I felt for him in the final. He wasn't at his best, and didn't look fit. For his effort, often unappreciated brilliance and his unselfishness he deserved this too.

Origi, there is just something about him for Liverpool. The finish was sublime. If he's happy with a super sub role, with occasional starts, keep him and don't buy a striker. Give all Sturridge's minutes to him, believe in his ability to pop up with big goals. Made up for him, and he seems so humble and almost doesn't believe what's happening, Divock lad, you've scored in and won a Champions League final!

For next season, I touched on signings a little; I'd sell Mignolet, Moreno, Lovren, Sturridge, Lallana, Clyne.

What type of players are possibly needed; a backup goalkeeper as heavily mentioned, but why can't Allison play every week?
A full back comfortable on both sides. Allows a rest for Trent and Robbo when needed. Good crosser is important.

A versatile winger. Young, quick dangerous. We have Shaqiri too, and whilst I think he's good in lower games, and can produce magic i don't see him as long term. Brewster can come in and play a part too.

That is a squad of winners, quality and depth. We can challenge on four fronts next year, and hopefully keep the silverware coming in!
