Contracts

Newly promoted Norwich City have given their goalkeeper Tim Krul a new 3 year deal.

John Brayford has signed a 1 year contract with Burton Albion.

Veteren midfielder Jim McAlister has signed a new 1 year deal with Morton.

Young Bournemouth winger Mikael Ndjoli has agreed a 2 year contract.

Former Liverpool keeper Nikolay Mihaylov has signed a 2 year deal with a club option for a further 2 years with Levski Sofia.

Veteran goalkeeper Artur Boruc has signed a new 1 year contract with Bournemouth.

 

Transfers

Veteran winger Marc Pugh is leaving Bournemouth on a free transfer.

Major League Soccer side Toronto FC have signed central defender Omar Gonzalez from Atlas Guadalajara.

Aston Villa have released Scotland forward Ross McCormack.

Leganes have paid just under £3m to sign left back Jonathan Silva from Sporting Clube de Portugal.

Derby County have released Ashley Cole, Alex Pearce, Marcus Olsson, David Nugent and Efe Ambrose.

Alaves have paid just over £2m to sign Spanish forward Lucas Perez from West Ham United. Midfielder Edimilson Fernandes has joined 1.FSV Mainz 05 from the Hammers. Coming in to West Ham is the son of former legendary defender Alvin Martin from Millwall. David Martin is the second goalkeeper to sign in a week, as he joins from Millwall.

Arsenal have released former Juventus right back Stephan Lichsteiner.

Verona have signed Italian left winger Antonio Di Gaudio from Parma.

Stade Rennais have released former Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

Bologna have paid just under £7m for Nicola Sansone from Villareal.

Italian defender Luca Marrone has left Juventus to join Hellas Verona for under £1m. They have also signed Antonino Ragusa from Sassuolo.

Shaun MacDonald has signed for Rotherham United on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic.

Swindon Town have signed Tyler Reid on a free transfer following his release from Swansea City.

Port Vale have signed defender Kieran Kennedy from Wrexham.

Ryan Watson has signed for Northampton Town from MK Dons.

Bissouma Out

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma has been ruled out of Mali's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations after picking up a shoulder injury. Bissouma is to have surgery on the shoulder and may also miss the start of next season.

 

Sierra Leone Ban Lifted

Following the clearing of Sierra Leone FA (SLFA) president Isha Johansen of corruption charges last week Sierra Leone's international ban has been lifted. Sierra Leone were suspended in October.

 

Qatar Named As Club World Cup Host

Gulf state Qatar have been chosen as the host for the next two editions of the Club World Cup. The tournament will take place in December. The current holders are Real Madrid, who won it the last 3 years in a row.

 

Long Out Of Euro Qualifiers

Mick McCarthy has lost Southampton striker Shane Long to injury. The 32 year old has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad to face Gibraltar and Georgia but no replacement is to be called up.
