Wednesday Challenge Trademark

After finding out that Paul Jennings had registered 'WAWAW' as a trademark last year Sheffield Wednesday have appealed to the government's Intellectual Property Office (IPO) in an attempt to overturn the trademark. WAWAW is used by Wednesday fans regularly on social media and stands for 'We're All Wednesday Aren't We' but they could face legal action by Jennings for using it without his permission in a ridiculous misuse of trademarks. A Wendesday statement said: "We can confirm we have challenged Mr Jennings' trademark as 'WAWAW' has, without question, grown organically from within the Sheffield Wednesday family for many years. We are confident the decision of the Intellectual Property Office will take this overwhelming factor into consideration and result in our challenge being successful."

Addicks Extend Bowyer Contract

Just one day after revealing they could not agree a new contract with manager Lee Bowyer, Charlton Athletic have confirmed that a 1-year contract extension has been agreed at the terms they said it would have been crazy to agree to. Bowyer has trebled his salary with the new contract. No wonder they are losing money under the (hated by fans) owner Roland Duchatelet! Bowyer said: "I'd literally spoken to the owner (Roland Duchatelet) just before I'd spoken to my wife and had a normal conversation with him. It was civilised and we were negotiating. It was only when I came off the phone that I'd heard there was a statement that had gone out. Two or three hours after we'd originally spoken, he called me to say he'd like to agree what we'd spoken about earlier and let's move things forward, which was great to hear. All I wanted to do is stay at the club. I love the club."

It is vitally important for everybody at the club to be sharing the same vision and commitment to the plans and processes."

Kilmarnock's former Rangers, Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest striker Kris Boyd has retired with a record for Scottish Premier League goals of 167 in total. The 35 year old had 3 spells with his first club Killie and helped them qualify for Europe for next season.
