Contracts

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has signed a 4 year deal.

Mario Vrancic signed a 2 year deal with Norwich City.

Midfielder James Dayton has signed a new 1 year contract with Leyton Orient.

Liam Palmer has signed a new 3 year deal with Sheffield Wednesday.

 

Transfers

Genoa have signed Romanian goalkeeper Ionut Radu on loan from Inter Milan, straight after signing him from them for over £10m. Inter have brought in Nicolo Barella on loan from Cagliari, paying a loan fee of over £10m.

Spanish goalkeeper Adrian Ortola has been loaned to Tenerife on loan from Barcelona.

Getafe winger Alvaro Jimenez has been sent on loan to Albacete.

Former Manchester United right-back Donald Love has moved to Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer from Sunderland.

Parma have paid just under £1m in loan fees for Brazilian midfielder Hernani on loan from Zenit St-Petersburg.

Juventus have signed young Argentine centre-back Cristian Romero for over £23m from Genoa and then sent him back on loan.

Saint-Etienne winger Oussama Tannane has signed for Vitesse Arnhem. Dutch midfielder Riechedly Bazoer has also joined Vitesse, this time from VfL Wolfsburg.

Preston North End have sold Callum Robinson to Sheffield United for around £7m.

Lecce have taken Gianluca Lapadula on loan from Genoa.

Millwall have paid just over £750,000 for Jon Dadi Bodvarsson from Reading.

Everton full-back Luke Garbutt has joined Ipswich Town on loan.

Former Manchester City midfielder Fernando has joined Sevilla from Galatasaray for a fee of just over £4m.

Giovanni Sio has joined Genclerbirligi from Montpellier.

RCD Mallorca have signed Aleix Febas from Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Barcelona have paid over £100m for Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid. The Catalans have paid his buyout clause to clinch him, though Atleti are are disputing the move. An Atleti statement read: "Griezmann, represented by his lawyer, has appeared at the headquarters of the Professional Football League to unilaterally terminate the contract that links the player with Atletico. Atletico believes that the amount deposited is insufficient since it is obvious that the commitment of the player and Barcelona was closed before the aforementioned clause was reduced from 200 to 120 million euros. Atletico believes that the termination of the contract happened before the end of the last season and therefore has initiated procedures it has deemed appropriate to protect their rights and lawful interests."

Celta de Vigo have sold Danish winger Andrew Hjulsager to KV Oostende for less than £500,000.

Sassuolo have taken Ivory Coast midfielder Hamed Junior Traore on loan from Empoli.

Angers have paid just over £1m for Julien Masson from Valenciennes.

Olympique Lyonnaise have paid over £23m for Joachim Andersen from Sampdoria.

Nottingham Forest's Iranian forward Karim Ansarifard has moved to Qatari's Stars League side Al Sailiya.

Lazio and Spal have been involved in a double deal. SPAL have signed Alessandro Murgia for over £6m, going the other way was Manuel Lazzari for over £15m.

Doncaster Rovers have signed Ben Sheaf on a 6 month loan deal from Arsenal.

Newport County have strengthened their defence with the double signing of Ryan Haynes and George Nurse. Haynes arrives for an undisclosed fee from Shrewsbury Town, while Nurse is on loan from Bristol City.

Birmingham City goalkeeper Michael Luyambula has joined Crawley Town on a season long loan.

Midfielder Lewis MacLeod has signed for Wigan Athletic following his release from Brentford.

Croatian winger Cristian Ilic has signed for Motherwell on a free transfer.

Youri Djorkaeff's son Oan has signed for St Mirren.

 

Inter Make Lukaku Approach

Inter Milan's sporting director Piero Ausilio has revealed that his club have made an official approach to Manchester United for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. New Inter manager Antonio Conte is keen on signing Lukaku, who is unhappy after being relegated to a back up role under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. Ausilio said: "We had a meeting with Manchester United for Lukaku, it was an official approach between two important clubs. All the players we're following are targets we've agreed with Antonio Conte. We want to satisfy his request within certain financial parameters."

 

Bury Owner Has Not Been Given EFL Approval

Bury have had ongoing financial problems which a takeover by Steve Dale in December has failed to fix. It has now been revealed that those problems go further as the English Football League have not given full approval to the takeover. An EFL statement read: "Following notification of the transfer of shares at the club, the EFL immediately began to implement its change of control processes which include submission to the owners and directors' test for all relevant persons, as well as seeking additional information in regard to the source and sufficiency of funding. We remain in active dialogue with the club concerning the outstanding information as required under EFL regulations, and will continue to offer assistance as the club attempts to find a long-term solution to the complex and challenging issues it currently faces." Dale has admitted that Bury's financial troubles "turned out to be far in excess of what we could have comprehended" as he seeks a CVA to try and clear some of the club's debts.

 

Wednesday Owner Buys Ground To Protect From FFP

Sheffield Wednesday's owner Dejphon Chansiri has bought the club's Hillsborough stadium for about £60m to ensure the club does not breach FFP regulations. The ground was sold for a profit of £38m which helped them to make a pre-tax profit of £2.5m. The accounts record a figure of £61.2m to come. Chansiri had admitted previously that the club had broken the rules by "eight-figures". The club would have lost over £35m without selling the ground.

 

Crouch Announces Retirement

Peter Crouch has announced his retirement from playing at the age of 38. His contract with Burnley had ended in the summer after joining them from Stoke City. Crouch holds the record for Premier League goals with the head with 53.

 

Villa Agree Luiz Fee

Aston Villa have agreed a fee of £15m for Manchester City's Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz who has been on loan at Girona for the last 2 years. The 21 year old has never played for Man City and was denied a work permit last season.
