Dale Rules Out Sale

Bury owner Steve Dale has ruled out the possibility of selling stricken Bury until he has restored financial stability. Bury have currently been unable to start their League One campaign due to the EFL suspending their first two games due to fears over their viability. Dale only bought Bury in December and put the club up for sale in April, but now says he will wait for a sale until the club's future is assured. Dale said: "We've got a job to do. Once I've got it all in order, we might look at selling it. We're going to finish off the job that we started, but we'd like the help of the EFL." Dale also hit out at the league once more: "We said 'why would you cancel the game'?" Dale continued. "Tell us what the problems are, we'll sort them now or over the weekend, and then on Monday if we haven't done it you could cancel our game, but we can't think of anything you would need. They refused to do that."

Budge Set To Stay With Hearts

Heart of Midlothian chairwoman and ceo Ann Budge has confirmed she is staying on for at least two more years to help the club transition to fan ownership. Budge put up her own money to rescue Hearts when the Edinburgh club was in financial difficulties and paid £2.4m to take it out of administration. Her 75.1% stake is being passed over to the Foundation of Hearts next summer and she was due to step down on completion, but will now stay on to ensure a smooth transition. Budge said: "Becoming the largest majority fan-owned club in the UK will require a smooth transition. Particularly when we can anticipate considerable change in the Scottish/European football landscape. Additionally, given all of the good work that has been done over the past five years, we absolutely do not want to stand still during this transition. To help achieve all of this, I am fully committed to leading the club forward for a minimum of a further two years in order to provide both stability and continued growth and development so that we can continue to reach new heights in both a business and footballing sense."

Hibs Reveal Middleton Interest

Hibernian head coach Paul Heckingbottom has admitted that the club are trying to sign Rangers winger Glenn Middleton on loan, despite Rangers manager Steven Gerrard revealing that NAC Breda were close to completing a deal for the teenager. Heckingbottom said: "He is someone we've spoken to Rangers about and we'd be keen to do something. Rangers would, and Glenn, so hopefully we can get something done. It would be a loan, he is someone who Rangers value highly and if we can get him, we'll do our bit in terms of pushing him and trying to develop him and he'd do his bit for us with his ability and qualities he can bring."

SA Waste Little Time

South Africa have appointed Molefi Ntseki as interim coach less than 24 hours after Stuart Baxter stepped down. The 50 year old was the coach of the under-17s. A SAFA statement read: "Given the upcoming fixtures in September, Ntseki is best placed to follow through with the foundation that has been laid by coach Baxter."

Guardiola Questions FIFA Shortlist

Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola has hit out after no member of his Prmeier League-winning side made the list for the Best FIFA Men's Player of 2019 award. City won the domestic treble of Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup last season, with Bernardo Silva outstanding, but none of them were considered as good enough for the shortlist. Guardiola said: "Maybe we have to win five or six or get 250 points to be considered next season. I don't think there is one player who had a better season than Bernardo Silva last season, even winning [the Nations League] with Portugal. These awards are normally when you win the Champions League. We were in the last stages and the other competitions do not count, are not important."

Fulham To Investigate Racism Incident Involving Their Own Player

Fulham full-back Cyrus Christie has complained about Fulham fans attacking and racially abusing his sister during the 1-0 defeat to Barnsley. Christie said on social media: "To the Fulham fan that decided to hit my sister at the game today and his wife who justified his action with racist remarks I hope you're proud of yourself and feel like a big man. You'll get what's coming to you. Regardless how you felt about the result your actions are shameful." Fulham have pledged to take the strongest possible action in a statement: "Fulham Football Club is investigating an incident which took place in the away end at the Barnsley v Fulham fixture this afternoon. Should the perpetrators be identified, the club will be taking the strongest possible action." Christie has previously suffered racial abuse himself on social media.
