Review of the Day

Contracts

Ajax's Brazilian winger David Neres has signed a 4 year deal.

Transfers

French central midfielder Michel Cuisance has signed for Bayern Munich from Borussia Moenchengladbach for around £9m.

Teenage striker Jonathan Afolabi has joined Celtic on a free signing from Southampton.

16 year old Scotland youth international Liam Morrison has joined Bayern Munich from Celtic after rejecting a professional contract with the Scottish champions.

Another African Nation Changes Coach

Angola's Serbian coach Srdjan Vasiljevic has left his role after a dispute with the Angolan FA over the use of the countries under-23 team in the African Nations Championship qualifier against Swaziland. He becomes the 12th coach from the recent African Cup of Nations to leave their job since it finished.

Another Life Ban Handed Out In Africa

Former Guinea coach Paul Put has had a life ban handed to him by Feguifoot, the Guinea Football Federation. Their vice president Amadou Diaby has also been suspended for 7 years and both men have been handed large fines, Put 100,000 euros and Diaby 25,000 euros. Put was sacked by Guinea last month due to an "atmosphere of mistrust" according to Feguifoot.

Ole Backs Sanchez

Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dismissed talk of Alexis Sanchez training with the reserves and back him to come good. The 30 year old Chile forward has struggled for form and fitness since joining Manchester United from Arsenal in January 2018. Solksjaer said: "It's these stories again that he's been put in the reserves - of course he hasn't. He's a few weeks behind the rest, but he's very close to being part of it. We don't have the biggest forward line in numbers, so Alexis might end up playing a lot more games than you expect. We expect him to come good at this club. He's quality."

Bantams Make Programme Boo Boo

Bradford City's matchday programme featured striker Eoin Doyle on the cover, as he was expected to face his former club Oldham Athletic on Saturday. However the 31 year old joined Swindon Town on a season-long loan deal on Friday, too late for the cover of 'The Parader' to be changed.

French Match Halted Due To Homophobic Chants

A match between AS Nancy and Le Mans was halted in the 27th minute by the referee due to homophobic chanting by a section of the crowd. Players called on the fans for the chants to stop and the stadium announcer warned that the game would be suspended. After a minute the match was resumed. The French league will now consider disciplinary action against Nancy.

Neymar Left Out Again

Paris Saint-Germain have once again left Neymar Jr out of their squad for the second week in succession. PSG face Rennes today and head coach Thomas Tuchel has said of Neymar "he won't be with us" while suggesting it was simply because he was not fully fit. PSG fans flew banners and chanted for Neymar to get out the club during the win over Nimes last weekend.

Sanches Fined After Whine About Game Time

Somehow football's biggest ever flop, the lumbering Portugese hoofer Renato Sanches has somehow thought he deserves more first team football and has asked to leave Bayern Munich publicly. Bayern have fined him 10,000 euros for his comments to Sport 1: "This is not a good situation for me. It is the second time that I want to join another club. But they will not let me go. 5 minutes are not enough for me." Five minutes are five minutes too many for a donkey like Sanches to get into a top-flight side. Or a pub league side for that matter.
