EFL Refuse To Overturn Bury Expulsion
The English Football League have ruled out overturning its decision to expel Bury from the league, despite being made aware of a takeover bid before the deadline expired. Bury stated their unhappiness: "Everyone connected with Bury Football Club were shocked, and disappointed with the EFL's decision to expel this wonderful, historic, community-driven club from the Football League. This decision was taken despite a credible new bidder being made aware to them before Tuesday's 5pm deadline. This is something we are struggling to comprehend as the new bidder has proven significant funds to the EFL - funds to allow them to take over, run and secure the long-term future of Bury Football Club. Everyone at the club believed that such (were) the capabilities of the potential new owner, this would've started a brand new era for the club, seeing it go from strength to strength."

Trouble Mars Celtic Game

The Ligue 1 derby match between OGC Nice and Olympique Marseille was stopped due to a section of fans making homophobic chants. There were also reports of homophobic banners in the stands in the first game Nice have played since being bought by Ineos. France's gender equality minister Marlene Schiappa tweeted: "Congratulations to referee Clement Turpin, whose commitment to respect for football is known to have interrupted the match #OGCNOM #NiceOM, despite the fact that, despite several withdrawal requests, a homophobic banner dirtied the stands. Football is a matter of passion not hate."
