Contracts
Mason Greeenwood has signed a new 4 year deal with Manchester United.
Teenage defender Lars Lukas Mai signed a new deal with Bayern Munich until 2022.
Fiorentina have given Lorenzo Venuti a new 5 year contract.
Racing Strasbourg have given midfielder Youssouf Fofana a new deal running until 2023.
Rotherham United have given defender Joe Mattock a two year contract extension.
Hal Robson-Kanu has signed a contract extension with West Bromwich Albion which runs until 2021.
Liverpool defender Joel Matip has agreed a new long term deal running until 2024.
Transfers
Former Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool winger Paul Anderson has re-signed for Northampton Town on a short-term deal. The 31 year old was released by Plymouth Argyle in the summer.
Free agent midfielder Chris McCann has signed for Oldham Athletic on a short-term deal. The former Burnley and Wigan Athletic player was released by MLS side DC United in July.
Former Motherwell winger Elliott Frear has signed for Forest Green Rovers on a deal until January.
Former Millwall, Shrewsbury Town, Norwich City, Leeds United and Stevenage striker Steve Morison has retired from playing at the age of 36. Morison signed a 1 year deal with Shrewsbury in the summer but has retired to take up an academy role with Northampton Town, his first club.
Former England youth keeper Ben Garratt, released by Crewe Alexandra in the summer, has signed a short-term deal with Burton Albion.
Injury Round-Up
Downes Suspended
AFC Wimbledon manager Wally Downes has been suspended for four weeks for breaching FA rules on betting. Football Association rules forbid anyone employed by a football club from gambling on matches. Downes was also fined £3,000.
Bulgaria Coach Quits
The backlash from the England v Bulgaria game, where racist abuse caused the game to be stopped twice, has seen Bulgaria's coach Krasimir Balakov quit the job. Though the Bulgarian Football Union have said it is due to results, rather than his comments immediately after the game, when he claimed he had heard nothing.
Clasico Postponed
The match between Barcelona and Real Madrid that was due to be played on 26th October has been postponed over security fears. The game was due to be played at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium in Catalonia but there have been days of protest in the city due to the jailing of nine Catalan separatist leaders.
