Libya captain Ahmad Benali has had to withdraw from their squad for forthcoming AFCON qualifiers after breaking a metatarsal in his left foot.

Slovan Bratislava's Kenan Bajric's concussion is being termed "quite serious" after he was caught by the boot of Wolverhampton Wanderers' striker Raul Jimenez as the Mexican forward attempted an overhead kick. Bratislava head coach Jan Kozak said: "He is conscious but he has concussion. At the moment it looks like a bad injury, quite serious. One of the home players kicked him in the head. He is not going home with us tonight, he is staying here in hospital to be observed."

Manchester City have ruled goalkeeper Ederson out of the weekend's top of the table clash with Liverpool after he picked up a muscle injury against Atalanta.

Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Real Madrid's team to face Eibar on Saturday despite being picked in the Wales squad.

League Two Match Called Off Due To International Call-Ups

The League Two match between Newport County and Grimsby Town, due to be played on Saturday 16th November in Grimsby, has been postponed. Newport have three players away on international duty leading to the postponement.

FA Cup Tie To Take Place Despite Strike

Even though Macclesfield Town's players are on strike over unpaid wages, their FA Cup 1st round tie against Kingstonian is to go ahead. If the club are unable to fulfil the fixture, they face being expelled from next season's competition as well.

Southend Face Winding Up Order

Southend United have become the latest English Football League side to face a winding-up petition. This is the fourth time the Essex club has faced such a petition at the hands of HMRC this year and they will be due in court for the second time in 3 months. They currently sit second from bottom of the League One table.

3 Stabbed And 12 Arrested As Violence Mars Europa League Game

A Celtic fan was stabbed and 12 Lazio supporters arrested after Lazio ultras attacked a shuttle bus transporting Celtic fans to the Europa League match between the two in Rome. There were also reports of fireworks, bottles and other objects being thrown after the match which Celtic won 2-1. Two Celtic fans were stabbed in the build up to the game by masked men outside an Irish bar in the city.

Dempster Defends Hibs Recruitment

Hibernian chief executive Leeann Dempster has dismissed criticisms of the club's summer recruitment after being asked what went wrong with it. Dempster said: "I don't think anything went wrong. I think we have a strong group of players here. I think we need to make some tweaks around the edges, we've had good recruitment at this club over a number of years. Some players have had unnecessary criticism. We know that there are some gaps, we maybe need to add a bit of depth. I know people have opinions but if you could live your life in hindsight we'd be Champions League winners at the moment. We don't do that, we make our decisions and choices at the time. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't."

Migne Back In Work

French coach Sebastian Migne has taken charge of Equatorial Guinea. The 46 year old left his role as Kenya's head coach back in August. Migne said: "I do not promise results but hard work. I can't say that I already know all the players of the national team. I have been fortunate to follow the friendly that Nzalang had with Togo in France and I can say that I have a good team. My plan is to meet with all the coaches in the country to convey my work philosophy. It is the way we can do a team work."

TV Deal Scrapped

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has scrapped a $1bn television and marketing deal with Lagadere Sports after court judgements went against it. CAF did not put out the deal to open tender before appointing Lagadere as their exclusive agent for a 20 year period and it has been ruled that it breached Egyptian competition rules.

Footballer Punished For Missing Penalty

Club Bruges have dropped and fined Mbaye Diagne after he missed a penalty in their 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Head coach Philippe Clement decided on the punishment as Diagne took the penalty despite Hanas Vanaken being the designated penalty taker. Clement said: "He'll not appear in my selection for our league match in Antwerp on Sunday. And I will decide in coming weeks or months for a possible return to the team. There'll also be a very heavy financial penalty."

Platini Set To Take UEFA To Court

Michel Platini's lawyer has told the BBC that his client is set to pursue a claim over unpaid salary from UEFA. Vincent Solari said: "We haven't claimed a specific amount at this stage, but we offered to Uefa to discuss about a settlement regarding the employment contract of my client as there has never been a formal termination of it. The lawyer of Uefa informed us recently that they don't want to enter into any negotiations and we will therefore initiate a claim on due time in front of the competent court."

Stoke Appoint O'Neill

Stoke City have appointed Michael O'Neill as their new manager, but he will still continue as manager of Northern Ireland for the forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers and will lead them in the play-offs, due to be played in March, if they qualify. O'Neill has previously rejected Scotland's approach.

Greenwood Compared To Van Persie

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaert has compared teenage prodigy Mason Greenwood with Robin van Persie. Solskjaer said: "He is very composed with his finishing. What he does is natural to him. I don't think he knows whether his right or left foot is the best. Mason is going to have a very big career, but sometimes it is not the right time to play him. He knows why he hasn't played as much. We're taking our time with him. He's gone up from the under-18s last year, now he's training with the first team every day and you can't just turn that switch on and off. You've got to perform every day if you are going to be accepted by a group like this. If he'd really stamped his authority in training every single day and been the best option he would have played every game, but as a young boy you expect ups and downs, and he's had some downs. But I think he is on his way up again. It is the club's philosophy - and mine - to give young players with the right attitude a chance. Mason is going to have a big career but if it takes a couple of years for him to really come through, it is worth it for us."

Milan Chase Zlatan Return

Major League Soccer's commissioner has revealed that AC Milan are set to sign Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after his contract with LA Galaxy expires in December. Garber said on ESPN: "Zlatan is such an interesting guy. He keeps my hands and inbox full. He's a thrill-a-minute. He is a 38-year-old guy who is being recruited by AC Milan, one of the top clubs in the world."
