Review of the Day
Transfers
Nashville SC have signed Dominique Badji from FC Dallas for £264,000.
Macc Players Threaten Another Strike
Players at Macclesfield Town have warned the club that they will once more go on strike if they are not paid. Macc owner Amar Alkadhi told the BBC that the payments would be made. If the wages are not paid the players will not train or play their match on Saturday, at home to Crewe Alexandra.
Creepy Coach Leaves
Crawley Town's head coach Gabriele Cioffi has left the League Two club by 'mutual consent'. The Italian took charge of Creepy Crawley in September last year, after Harry Kewell left for Notts County. The Sussex club had won just once in their last 11 league matches.
McInnes Denies Stoke Talks
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has denied that the club have held talks with Stoke City over the sale of striker Sam Cosgrove. McInnes said: "There has been no conversation with any Championship club. If a bid gets put in for any of our players it's up to our board to consider but from my conversations with the board we all know how important Sam is to us. If the right offer comes in for any of our players, players will be sold, that's the way it is. But we're confident enough that we want to make sure the right offers come in. We can't do anything about that - all we can do is if the offer comes in be in a strong position to say yes or no, and I think we are in a position to say yes or no and that's not always the case."
National Coaches Already Gone
Just two rounds have been played in the qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and already two managers have gone. Both Eswatini and Sudan have parted company with their coaches after poor starts to the qualifiers. Sudan's Croat coach Zdravko Logarusic and Eswatini's Serbian head coach Kosta Papic have had their contracts terminated. Sudan's FA said: "We announce that the decision has been taken to part company with our national team head coach Zdravko Logarušić. Our most sincere thanks go to Zdravko. We wish him nothing but future success." While Eswatini announced: "The EFA wishes to announce that, in view of its capacity to meet the demands of the head coach of the senior national team Sihlangu, Kostadin Papic, the contract of engagement will not be renewed. At this instance, the EFA would like to express its sincere appreciation to the work and commitment done Papic and his entire technical team over the period towards creating a foundation for good performance of the national team. The EFA will at a later stage make some pronouncements on the future of the national team."
Mullins Steps In
Watford have appointed their under-23's coach Hayden Mullins to take temporary charge of team affairs after the weekend sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores. The Hornets are currently sat bottom of the league and face high-flying Leicester City on Wednesday.
UEFA Charges
Lille have been charged with field invasion by supporters and blocked stairways from their Champions League match with Ajax.
Slavia Prague's Champions League match with Inter Milan has led to a charge of blocked stairways for them.
In the Europa League, the game between Feyenoord and Rangers has led to charges of setting off of fireworks and blocked stairways for the Dutch club. Rangers have also been charged with setting off of fireworks.
