Luongo Ban Rescinded

Sheffield Wednesday have won their appeal against a red card shown to midfielder Massimo Luongo in their 5-0 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers. Luongo was shown a straight red card for 'serious foul play' but referee Jared Gillett's decision was overturned on review. The 27 year old's 3-game suspension has been withdrawn and he will be available to play at the weekend, when Wednesday face his old team Queens Park Rangers.

Blades Ownership Battle Over

Sheffield United's former owner Kevin McCabe has been refused an appeal against a court order to sell his 50% stake in the club to Saudi Arabian Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The pair have been locked in a legal battle over the ownership of the club for 2-years now but the battle is finally over and Prince Abdullah will be the sole owner of the club and its properties, such as Bramall Lane. A Blades statement read: "Prince Abdullah expects the transfer of the properties to be completed within a matter of months and looks forward in particular to the club being unified with its beloved home, Bramall Lane. The board is delighted that any lingering uncertainty about the club's future ownership is at an end and that everyone at Sheffield United can now fully focus on what has, to date, been a fantastic first season back in the Premier League."

Rodgers Believes Missing Pair Learnt Their Lesson

Leicester City duo Ben Chilwell and Hamza Choudhury were dropped from the Foxes' squad for the defeat against Burnley on Sunday and manager Brendan Rodgers says that they have "learned their lesson". The pair missed a training session during the week, leading to them being left out for disciplinary reasons but both are back in the squad as normal now. Rodgers said: "It's happens at every club, misdemeanours take place. It's a very important stage of the season for us and our preparation for games, and the two players missed a very important session for us - it was dealt with internally. They're young players, and young players make mistakes. They're learning that if you want to be at the top end of this table then it's a real mindset professionally you need to have, and we can't carry anyone. They've learned their lesson, they are good boys, both of them. We've spoken to the two players, and we move on."

Man Utd Hit With FA Charge

As if it was not bad enough for Manchester United losing to their bitter rivals Liverpool on Sunday, the Red Devils are now facing a charge for failing "to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion". The charge is due to an incident where Roberto Firmino scored for Liverpool and the United players confronted the referee incensed by what they claimed was a foul on their goalkeeper David de Gea. VAR agreed with their protests and the goal was disallowed, but David de Gea was booked for his vociferous complaints.
