Roy Hodgson has signed a 1 year contract extension with Crystal Palace.
Newcastle United duo Matt Ritchie and Jonjo Shelvey have extended their deals until 2023.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has signed a new 5 year Everton deal.
Transfers
Goalkeeper James Pantemis has joined Valour FC on loan from Montreal Impact.
Injury Round-Up
Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard has had successful surgery on his broken foot. The winger has made just 15 appearances since signing from Chelsea in the summer.
Liverpool's Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been ruled out of action for at least a week with a hip injury.
Managerial Changes
Former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has signed on as a striker coach with Feyenoord. The 36 year old retired as a player with the Rotterdam side in the summer. Manager Dick Advocaat said: "The plan is that van Persie works with the forwards."
Disciplinary Charges
Monaco winger Gelson Martins has been banned for 6 months after he pushed the referee twice in a Ligue 1 match against Nimes. Martins pushed referee Mickael Lesage after his team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off and then pushed the ref again after he was then red carded.
Police are investigating after a group of people abused Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard as he boarded the team coach following the 3-0 FA Cup victory over Derby County at Pride Park. Video footage was shared on social media and in it people can be heard shouting obscenities, including a racial slur, at the England midfielder. A Derbyshire Constabulary statement said: "We're aware of a video that was taken outside Pride Park following last night's game between Derby and Manchester United and enquiries are ongoing."
Ronaldinho is to escape prosecution after entering Paraguay using a fake passport, according to prosecutor Federico Delfino. Delfino said: "We are looking for a different way out of this that doesn't result in a formal accusation and that recognises that these people were, we can say, taken by surprise."
Latics Close In On Survival
Oldham Athletic have paid a "significant sum" off their debt, giving them an adjournment in their court case over potential administration. The Latics owe Brass Bank, the owners of their Boundary Park stadium, a loan and unpaid rent, but they have now reached an "in-principle agreement" to buy the ground and its surrounding land. A club statement explained: "We know that this has been a very unsettling time for the fans and all associated with Oldham Athletic AFC. We believe this to be the right deal for the future of the club and that it will, once complete, put us in a far stronger position to be able to deliver the experience, football and results we all desire." The club also dismissed the chances of selling up to former Watford owner Laurence Bassini.
Guinea Players Killed In Bus Crash
Nine players from Guinean football team Etoile de Guinee were killed in a bus crash with a further 19 people injured. The accident happened as the team travelled to the city of Kankan to play their opening match of the league season. The Guinea Football Federation are planning a day of mourning, when all players in the league will wear black armbands.
Moyes Proposes League Cup Change
West Ham United's manager David Moyes has suggested the League Cup should be changed to a British Cup, in response to UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin's comments that it would be "better for everyone" if the competition was scrapped. Moyes said: "I think it could do with a revamp. My opinion on it is I've always thought we should have included Scotland. Call it the British Cup. A couple of teams from Northern Ireland, maybe two of the Welsh League clubs. That would give us something different."
Danish League Players Quarantined
Thirteen people from Brondby and three from Lyngby have been placed in quarantine after former Danish international Thomas Kahlenberg was diagnosed with coronavirus. Kahlenberg was at Brondby's match against Lyngby on Sunday and has since been diagnosed with the virus. Brondby defender Joel Kabongo and three Lyngby players are in isolation after shaking hands with Kahlenberg. Brondby's data analyst, assistant coach, psychologist, chief executive and eight others have also been placed in isolation. The three Lyngby players Martin Ornskov, Kasper Jorgensen and Patrick da Silva will also be spending a fortnight in isolation. Kahlenberg caught the virus in Amsterdam at the weekend and former Liverpool midfielder and now Ajax assistant coach Christian Poulsen has also been quarantined after meeting with Kahlenberg in the city. Two other members of the Ajax staff, a physio and an exercise physiologist, will be spending 14 days in quaratine as well.
Mourinho Believes Dier Is Ready To Play
Despite climbing up to the top of the stand to confront a fan after Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the FA Cup by Norwich City, Jose Mourinho believes Eric Dier is in the right frame of mind to play against Burnley. Mourinho said: "What happened was clear. What happened... almost nothing. So I think he's ready. Because he is one of these players that was not playing [much before I arrived] so he has to play tomorrow."
