Review of the Day
Contracts
Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has signed a new contract with the club. His previous deal had one year left to run but he has signed a 3 year contract. Wolves chairman Jeff Shi said: "Nuno really is the special one to Wolves. He's brought us a clear identity. All the work we have done to build our first team over the past three years started from the identity created in Nuno's head."
Transfers
After breaking quarantine rules by taking an unsanctioned trip to Spain, Celtic full-back Boli Bolingoli has been loaned to Istanbul Basaksehir for the season, with the option to make the move permanent in the summer. The breach caused two Celtic games to be postponed and Bolingoli was fined by his club and given a 3 match ban by the Scottish FA.
Genoa have signed Miha Zajc on loan from Fenerbahce.
Lazio have paid over £16m to sign Vedat Muriqi from Fenerbahce.
Wilfried Kanga has joined Kayserispor from SCO Angers.
Osasuna have taken Argentine forward Jonathan Calleri from Maldonado.
Injury Round-Up
Arjen Robben's return to football after his July 2019 retirement lasted just 28 minutes. The 36 year old was making his first start since 2018 but failed to make it through the first half. Robben had come out of retirement to sign for Groningen after the club showed him a montage of basketball star Michael Jordan, who came out of retirement to win 3 more NBA titles.

Bilic Expects Ivanovic
West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has said in a post-match interview after the 3-0 loss against Leicester City, that he expects former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic to join the team for training on Monday. The 36 year old Serbian defender left Zenit St Petersburg in the summer and Bilic believes the transfer is done: "As far as I know, it was done yesterday I think. I expect him to be here tomorrow but I don't know what happened in the last 24 hours."
Greenwood Apologises For Hippy Crack Pics
Manchester United's forward Mason Greenwood has apologised after past pictures of him inhaling nitrous oxide were published by the gutter press. The teenager said: "I strongly urge others not to follow my example. I have now been made aware of the health risks associated with this practice and accept that even trying it, as shown in these historical pictures, was poor judgement on my part. As an 18-year-old, I am learning all the time. However, this week I have also learned I will be judged to a higher standard because of my career as a footballer and I must respect that in future. I am determined to repay the faith shown in me by my manager and coaches."
