Contracts
Transfers
Bolton Wanderers have completed the free signings of Arthur Gnahoua from Macclesfield Town and Lloyd Isgrove from Swindon Town.
Liverpool's German goalkeeper Loris Karius is in talks over a season-long loan to Union Berlin.
Panathinaikos have signed Spanish right-back Antonito from Real Valladolid on a free transfer.
SPAL have taken Marco Sala on loan from Sassuolo.
Argentine defender Lautaro Valenti has signed for Parma on loan from Lanus.
Genoa's Danish full-back Peter Ankersen has signed for FC Copenhagen.
Young Italian left-back Luca Pellegrini has joined Genoa on loan from Juventus.
Mallorca winger Yannis Salibur has signed for Karagumruk on a free transfer.
RB Leipzig have left Ademola Lookman out of their squad as the former Everton winger is close to a move to Fulham.
Arsenal have been told that their offer was too low for Houssem Aouar by Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas on social media. Aulas posted, after reports that Aouar was set to sign for the Gunners, that: "For Houssem Arsenal is too far from his value: we are counting on him to play a great match in Lorient and lead OL in CL next year."
Hertha Berlin have confirmed their interest in signing Mario Gotze, who is a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund in July.
Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has ruled out selling Milan Skriniar or bringing in N'Golo Kante from Chelsea. Ausilio said of rumours about a sale of Skriniar to Tottenham Hotspur: "I don't confirm any negotiations. There was a meeting with Tottenham, true, but we told them that Skriniar is not for sale. Godin has already been sold and we are not thinking of depriving ourselves of Skriniar as well." When asked by DAZN about rumours regarding an attempt to buy Kante, Ausilio ruled that out too: "A player who is an important part of Chelsea, he always plays and is not for sale. On the contrary, we have eight midfielders in the squad, and we will start the season with them."
Villareal have signed Maximiliano Villa on loan from Girona.
Injury Round-Up
Borussia Monchengladbach defender Jordan Beyer is the latest player to test positive for the coronavirus. He has been missing from the squad for the last two matches anyway due to injury, so no other players or staff have needed to go into quarantine.
Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin has also tested positive and it has led to a delayed kick-off in their match against Napoli. The Genoa squad have had to undergo a fresh round of tests and postponed their charter flight to Naples to allow the results to return before they fly.

Virus Precautions Break Bus
Oxford United were forced to take to cars and taxis in order to reach Accrington Stanley's Crown Ground for their League One match. The alcohol-based sprays and gels used to clean everything got into the team coach's breathalyser and caused the bus to shut down for 6 hours when the driver attempted to use it in order to start the engine. Oxford boss Karl Robinson said: "This week has certainly been sent to test us."
Rashford Criticises Child Food Poverty Response
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has criticised the response he received from Education Secretary Gavin Williamson when he asked for government backing for his Child Food Poverty Taskforce. Rashford accused Williamson of "a lack of empathy". Rashford told the BBC: "I am disappointed by the lack of empathy shown in recent weeks towards protecting our most vulnerable, the future of this country. I didn't have the education of a politician, I have never claimed to have all of the answers - but I have a voice and I will continue to use it for the millions who are not being heard. The drive of myself and the Child Food Poverty taskforce to see these three government policies implemented without delay is stronger than ever. I have no interest in party politics. Letting millions of children in the UK go hungry at night is only an issue of humanity. We need to do better."

Cincinnati And Hoffenheim Partner Up
The Bundesliga's TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have agreed a partnership with Major League Soccer's FC Cincinnati. Cincinnati are one of the newer sides to join the MLS and Hoffenheim say that the partnership will aid its sporting development while helping to expand the German side's international network. Hoffenheim managing director Peter Gorlich said: "We are striving for a wide-ranging partnership that will not only focus on the football academies and the mutual exchange of innovations, but will also bolster our companies with a brand and image exchange."
Bayern Record Setters
Bayern Munich have set a new record for a team from the top 5 European leagues with their 23rd win in a row in the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla. They managed a total of 78 goals scored in those 23 games while conceding just 16 in their own net, with 12 clean sheets. It has also brought them 4 trophies, with the Bundesliga, DFB Cup, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup all won during that 23 game run. Despite the run and the latest trophy, Bayern's star striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed that the team barely celebrated the Super Cup triumph over Sevilla due to being too tired after it went into extra-time. The Pole said: "We didn't really celebrate anymore, we were all too exhausted from the 120 minutes. On Saturday we're flying back to Hoffenheim, we don't have a day off. Five days of ice bins would actually be nice."
Sancho Stirs Up More Man Utd Talk
Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho has stirred up the media once more. The 20 year old has been the subject of interest from Manchester United all summer, though Dortmund have said they will not be selling him during this current transfer window. So it set tongues wagging when he was asked by Pro Direct Soccer who was the most skilful player he has played with and he chose England teammate, and current Man Utd forward, Marcus Rashford.
Italy Rejects Plan To Increase Spectator Numbers
The Italian government has rejected a proposal to increase the number of spectators in Serie A, and other sporting events, from its current 1,000 person limit. It had been suggested that the amount should be increased to 25% of stadium capacity but that was rejected by the technical-scientific committee (CTS). A CTS statement read: "The CTS believes that...current conditions do not allow the participation of spectators in outdoor and indoor events in the manner indicated in the document prepared by the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces."
