Managerial Changes

Disciplinary Charges

Swansea City coach Alan Tate has been banned for 4 matches from the touchline and fined £920 after he clashed with Birmingham City player Jon Toral, appearing to grab him by the throat. An FA statement read: "His behaviour at half-time of the EFL Championship fixture against Birmingham City FC amounted to improper and violent conduct."

Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez is not going to be punished by the French Football League (LFP) over Neymar's allegations of racism which Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian forward claimed had led to him striking Gonzalez on the back of his head. The LFP said there was not "sufficient convincing evidence" to support the claim.

Wigan Agreement Reached

The administrators for Wigan Athletic have revealed that they have reached an agreement to sell the League One club to a bidder from Spain. The bidder has paid a "substantial" deposit and agreed to pay non-football creditors. The administrators stated: "We are now working with our lawyers and the bidder to produce all of the necessary paperwork to submit to the EFL so that successful transfer of the football share can be made at the earliest opportunity. The preferred bidder who has experience in football has made it plain that they do not wish for their details to be made public until such time as the sale is completed and we are respecting this anonymity."
